I've snogged every member of Boyzone, including Ronan. I am incredibly proud of this...

DP is fond of telling everyone how much the Queen Mother loved his fart joke. He was escorting her around his barracks when one of the ceremonial horses which had pulled her carriage farted, the Queen Mother said "Oh, I'm terribly sorry!" to which DP replied "Oh, I thought it was the horse!"

He says she split her sides laughing... Hmm

I had the same piano tuner as Mel Smith once. The tuner charged Mr Smith a great deal more than he charged me!

Nick Knowles, with a great grin, held a door open for me, at a Tescos garage once, he'd been talking to the cashiers and given one a peck on the cheek,
I smiled and said thankyou, and was half to the till when it clicked he reminded me of someone, I turned to look and he'd gone, the cashiers laughed at the 'do i know him' expression on my face :-)

JIm Davidson was in the our small village restaurant last night, he had his photo taken with the staff, and said hello to us, as we were sitting watching him and the staff having their photo taken :-)

I met Lena Zavaroni who was a child star, around the same time as Bonnie Langford. She was an amazing singer but suffered from the terrible disease Anorexia Nervosa which eventually killed her. I met her a few months before she died in Birmingham. She was raising money for an anorexia charity. She was incredibly thin and in a wheelchair. She was one of the loveliest people I have ever met. I held her tiny hand and told her how much I hoped she would get better. I will never forget her.

MummyToOneGirl · 27/10/2016 23:29

Oh, when I met Lena she wasn't a child but in her 30's. She died aged 35 and I met her just a few months before she died. I am still saddened to this day that she died so young, but I'm very glad I was lucky enough to have met her.

GabsAlot · 27/10/2016 23:40

she had an amazing voice mummy-so sad

MummyToOneGirl · 27/10/2016 23:54

I'm glad you remember her Gabsalot. It was so sad, I watched a documentary about her and she desperately wanted to get better. She had brain surgery in the hope of curing her anorexia, but she ended up getting pneumonia and as she was so ill and frail she sadly died. She always claimed that being a child star, leaving all her family who she lived with on a tiny Scottish Island so young and being thrust into stardom at such a young age, didn't contribute to her anorexia but I can't help think it did just that.

My friend is a huge Poirot fan and she asked me make a cake in tribute of the last ever episode ( I used to have a cake decorating business). I put a picture of it on Twitter and it got retweeted to David Suchet, who then tweeted back to me saying how much he loved it, totally made my night!

YvaineStormhold · 28/10/2016 08:42

Ooh, ooh - I've got a good one!

I was having some house renovations done last year and my builders broke off to go and help with the DIY SOS Homes for Heroes project.

I mentioned I 'liked' (ahem) Nick Knowles, so they got him to send me a video message.

I swooned.

GabsAlot · 28/10/2016 13:44

yes mum sadly i think youre right alot of these child stars end up with major problems

JoffreyBaratheon · 28/10/2016 17:05

Mummy I saw one of her friends interviewed on TV, and got the distinct impression it was the press calling her 'fat' as a child, that directly caused her anorexia. Just saying this, as otherwise they're off the hook for it.

BowieFan · 28/10/2016 21:49

Reading about Lena Zavaroni has made me think of when I met Karen Carpenter when I was about 5 or 6. It was the height of her anorexia but I still remember being absolutely stunned by how beautiful and warm she was. Took a lot of time talking and indulging me (I was and still am a huge Carpenters fan!). It's sad we lost her when she was so young - she had so much love and talent to give. Her voice has never been bettered in terms of beauty, for me.

wow bowie yes what a beautiful voice and she sounded lovely too

MummyToOneGirl · 29/10/2016 12:07

Bowie, how wonderful you met Karen Carpenter. She seemed so lovely and what a beautiful voice that conveyed so much emotion.

CoolCarrie · 29/10/2016 12:28

Bowie, you were so lucky to meet Karen Carpenter! What a voice she had, and she had so much more to give, tragic end. I wonder what songs she would be singing now? Rumer has the same tone as Karen, but just not quite the same warmth.

SapphireStrange · 29/10/2016 14:25

Yes, Karen C had a wonderful voice. And what a songwriter she was, too.

IamNotDarling · 30/10/2016 09:24

I saw Robert Webb in town once and got a bit star struck when he winked at me. It was just after he won that show doing Flashdance!

I see lots of celebs at St Pancras station. My favourite has to be seeing the lovely actor Stephen Graham coming out of the loo there, the morning after watching him read a CBeebies bedtime story. I almost went over and told him but realised I'd look like a weirdo!

Scoose · 30/10/2016 14:44

My dh had Stephen graham in his taxi and didn't charge him as he said how could he charge al Capone?
