I've snogged every member of Boyzone, including Ronan. I am incredibly proud of this...

DP is fond of telling everyone how much the Queen Mother loved his fart joke. He was escorting her around his barracks when one of the ceremonial horses which had pulled her carriage farted, the Queen Mother said "Oh, I'm terribly sorry!" to which DP replied "Oh, I thought it was the horse!"

He says she split her sides laughing... Hmm

Rather thrilled to hear Jennifer Saunders is a pain in the ass. Few people on telly annoy me as much as Jennifer Saunders. She always seems so terribly amused by herself. Which makes one of us.. A good friend of mine was a stage manager in the west end and had a horrible time with JS and Aide Edmonson. She was so disappointed as she loved French & Saunders but JS was absolutely vile to her on a number of occasions (so a pattern of distain, not a one off). Only celeb who ever had her in tears apparently and she'd met loads and worked with them.

MrsJayy · 24/10/2016 20:24

Jennifer saunders has a smug dont you know who I am look about her. Your poor friend

Willow2016 · 24/10/2016 20:42

Drunk:
James and Lars? Not jealous at all....much Sad

Longtime · 24/10/2016 20:43

I shook hands with Pope Jean Paul II.

Has Sylvester McCoy been mentioned on the list of doctors? Met him at Amsterdam ComicCon along with Sean Austin and James Marsters.

Also met lots of the Sherlock cast but at the Sherlock convention so that's cheating.

I was staying in a hotel in Lancashire when I discovered some idiot had smashed my car window. Flounced back into the hotel in a royal bad mood and some idiot tried to be nice and hold the door open for me. To my shame, I slammed the door back in his face. Alan Shearer's face. Blush

Longtime · 24/10/2016 21:08

Oh, I forgot Devon Murray (Seamus in Harry Potter). My dd was dressed as Catwoman, heels and all, so stood around 6' 2". DM is tiny weeny - only 5' 3" - so she towered over him for the photo!

Galdos · 24/10/2016 21:39

Bit surprised at Michael Winner - knew him slightly through work for a couple of years. Always behaved like a complete shit, the second most unpleasant person I have ever met.

MrsJayy · 24/10/2016 21:54

DDs met a few people at comic cons she said the nicest was Colin Baker she said he was adorable and his photo fee went to his dog charity,

Wdigin2this · 24/10/2016 21:57

I was sitting in a pub having Sunday lunch , quite a few years ago. I ordered pork, but when it arrived it had quite a lot of crackling, I said to DH, 'Oh you know I don't like crackling, do you want it?' But before he could answer, a guy on the table behind piped up with, 'I love it, I'll have it!'
I just said 'fine, there you go!' and got on with my lunch, DH started at me, and stage whispered, 'Do you realise who that is?' I said I didn't, and he replied....'It's John Barrowman!' I turned around to look, and there he was smiling, waving and scoffing my crackling!

AmberNectarine · 25/10/2016 00:00

Not me, but someone I know had sex with Beppe from eastenders (aka Michael Greco).

He described him as having a huge cock 'but no finesse'.

AmberNectarine · 25/10/2016 00:01

SHE. Oh God. I didn't mean to out Beppe.

liz70 · 25/10/2016 00:08

80s teenager here so have met Lloyd Cole, Julian Cope, Ian McCulloch, Will Sergeant, Glenn Gregory, Martyn Ware, Alan Rankine, other music people but not necessarily known names. On the non music front Rupert Graves is my most special (to me) encounter.

LikeDylanInTheMovies · 25/10/2016 00:19

I'm quite impressed with meeting Alan Rankine. More than anyone else on this thread.

acsec · 25/10/2016 08:27

I got chatted up in a pub by Zammo from Grange Hill about 10 years ago!

Ben Elton is a nice chap, he let me go in front of him at the bar at a Burlesque show.

I sat opposite Nick Cave on a train to Brighton, and tried to explain to my mum, very quietly and via the medium of mime that he is famous.

I've chatted with Newton Faulkner and Shane Ritchie.

EachandEveryone · 25/10/2016 08:32

John Borrowman used to do my friends grandmas shopping for her when she became housebound. I've heard nothing but good things about the man.

Drivemecrazy1974 · 25/10/2016 08:41

I once got chatted up by someone who claimed to be Colonel Abrams, the singer of Trapped. I can't imagine why somebody in 1992 would lie about being an '80s one hit wonder, so can only assume it was him!

JoffreyBaratheon · 25/10/2016 11:05

If we're onto sharing friends' ones...

I have a friend who plonked himself down on the train in Leeds station and realised he was sat next to Alan Bennett. I'd have been starstruck but my friend isn't remotely literary and he just thought it was mildly interesting in a "Hah! Guess who I was sat next to on the train last week!" kinda way. Which I guess, pleased AB.

Years ago I had another friend who had a one night stand with Adam Ant. (In the early 80s). She said he was amazing and had nothing but lovely things to say about him.

One of my old uni friends was the girlfriend of Jimmy Paige who I didn't know or recognise but apparently many think he's one of the greatest guitarists who ever lived. He played an acoustic guitar whilst we sang along round a camp fire. He seemed like a lovely man - most of my friends who were there were in awe, but luckily for me I'd never heard of him til they told me who he was.

My favourite vicarious one is I had a friend who used to be a regular drinking buddy with 'Bernie the Bolt' of 'Golden Shot' fame in the 1970s...

SapphireStrange · 25/10/2016 11:09

Galdos, who's the first?

On John Barrowman, I knew someone who worked with him in the West End and apparently he used to like finding ever more inventive ways of flashing his cock to the rest of the cast and the crew, but without letting the audience see.

Elendon · 25/10/2016 11:17

I was once chatted up by Paul Whitehouse, he was with Harry Enfield and John Thomson (who was quite shy but funny). It was a very long liquid lunch with friends and we all sort of melded in as a group. I had been newly married and loved up so declined his offer to meet up later on, but the craic was great.

I also went to an after show party with the Scottish band who wrote "The Whole of the Moon". They got their instruments out and played the most wonderful tunes. We all sat on a large balcony and only left at dawn. There wasn't much drinking done, just a lovely party.

RockyBird · 25/10/2016 11:28

I was chatted up by the guitarist of a band who were big in the eighties, this summer. He was lovely. He took the hint when I mentioned my DH a couple of times. We're chums on FB now Grin

Elendon · 25/10/2016 11:28

The Waterboys! Just remembered.

I also knew Alan Radcliffe dad of Daniel, in his younger years.

timelytess · 25/10/2016 11:36

There's a musician of breathtaking skill. You probably won't have heard of him - unless you're Irish, in which case you're probably one of his sisters - but I have seriously nibbled his hair. Mouthed it. Snogged it, almost. Nuzzled it and buried my face in it. His hair is like thistledown. Gossamer. It's a portal directly to heaven.

It was a matter of seconds, a one-off and it went no further. He's a married musician. :)

Actually, re-reading that I can see how he got the impression I fancied him...

MyBonnieLiesOverTheOcean · 25/10/2016 11:37

Harrods. 1988. I was age 14 and on a tourist trip with my family.

Got into the lift and the doors started to close. Then someone put a hand in to open them....and both members of Bros walked in!

I wasn't a fan but was still rendered speechless and starstruck as they were really really REALLY famous at the time.
