Hundreds of thousands of people were willing Condemn a innocent man. He was practically forced out of football. This is why we can't play jury from our sofas.

david

Its presumed innocent

LadyStoic · 18/10/2016 21:03

And YY to PP, I've reported too.

Women cant rape in this country

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 18/10/2016 21:04

david

Two witnesses did not hear her say 'fuck me harder' when she was in the hotel room

larrygrylls · 18/10/2016 21:05

Portia,

Why would his previous partners be called? What would they show?

PortiaCastis · 18/10/2016 21:05

The transcripts of the trial are available online I've read them but it seems someone hasn't

HillaryFTW · 18/10/2016 21:06

The two witnesses were not witnesses to what happened in the room.

Only one stated the phrase you have said.

Neither was in a situation with the victim where someone else let themselves into the room.

He was found not guilty. Courts do not find people innocent.

Felascloak · 18/10/2016 21:06

Not if she was so drunk she didnot know who was fucking her, the man she'd gone back to the hotel with or the knobjockey who'd snuck into her room in the dark without speaking.
How can a man be sure he has consent if he's never even spoken to the person he's doing sex to? He can't, so he is a rapist even if that can't be proven.

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 18/10/2016 21:06

david

If someone gave you half a brain... You would still only have half a brain

HillaryFTW · 18/10/2016 21:07

Larry

Quite possibly, that recklessness as to consent was in his sexual history, we'll never know, as only victims can have their history deemed relevant.

PortiaCastis · 18/10/2016 21:08

Well if that poor girls previous boyfriends were hunted down she should have the right to do the same and quote their sexual language.

david94 · 18/10/2016 21:08

I've enjoyed trying to discuss this with some on this thread but there are some very lazy responses. Throwing insults around isn't the most intelligent debating technique but if it makes you happy...
I've heard no intelligent argument here on why this conviction is wrong. Yes Ched isn't an angel but is no different to many young men who given half a chance would take the same opportunity for a 3-some with a mate. Not right, but not rape (according to the court). Why some are so angry about this I'm not sure. The poor girl involved never even claimed to be raped! No winners in this case.

No, women can't rape, david. The definition is very, very clear.

How do you know, in that pitch black room that the young woman in there didn't think it was still Clayton? Evans, by his own testimony, said nothing to her.

david94 · 18/10/2016 21:10

Felascloak, she was asked if 'my mate can join in' and said yes and engaged in an enthusiastic 3-some (according to two people in the room). She hasn't disputed this. The fact she can't remember doesn't make it rape!

PortiaCastis · 18/10/2016 21:11

Consent is the issue how many times does it need typing

Felascloak · 18/10/2016 21:11

Just because many young men would take the opportunity to rape a pissed woman doesn't make it not rape ched david
Also I think you are wrong, most men would not have sex with her but instead either totally leave it or take her number or wait until the morning when she'd sobered up.

PortiaCastis · 18/10/2016 21:11

Read the transcripts

david94 · 18/10/2016 21:12

Boundaries, the room wasn't pitch black. She was asked if Evans could join in. She was an enthusiastic partner in a 3-some. All this according to the two people in the room who did remember. She has never claimed she was raped and has no recollection of what went on. Where was the rape?

Felascloak · 18/10/2016 21:13

She hasn't disputed it because she can't remember - obviously.
And just because two men accused of rape said she consented doesn't make it so. In fact in mcDonalds original statement, ched only asked mcdonald if he could have a go, neither of them bothered to ask the woman.

Lighthouseturquoise · 18/10/2016 21:13

David doesn't speak on behalf of 'most' other men.

Most men wouldn't do what Ched Evans did.

ZuleikaDobson · 18/10/2016 21:13

Self-evidently, david, she hasn't disputed anything because she was too drunk to remember. It doesn't automatically make what the two men say true. If she can't remember, it's a fair bet that that is because she wasn't in a condition to give valid consent. That's backed up by one of them telling the receptionist she was ill. Which makes it rape.

Tarla · 18/10/2016 21:14

The rape was in the fact that she was so drunk she can't remember. Drunk to the point of not being able to remember is too drunk to consent.

Felascloak · 18/10/2016 21:14

Oh, and it wasn't a threesome. Mcdonald left the room (telling the receptionist she was sick and needed to be kept an eye on) while evans shagged her.

AskBasil · 18/10/2016 21:15

"Yes Ched isn't an angel but is no different to many young men who given half a chance would take the same opportunity for a 3-some with a mate"

Yep, there are an awful lot of rapists around.

Women should avoid them.

Luckily some of them tell us who they are. By defending what Ched Evans did, for instance.
