Hundreds of thousands of people were willing Condemn a innocent man. He was practically forced out of football. This is why we can't play jury from our sofas.

Charlie webster, who resigned as patron of sheff Utd over Evans, has also made it clear that she won't be apologising just because he has been found not guilty.

Good on her! I've seen a lot of shit being posted about Jessica Ennis-Hill too demanding that she apologise and calling her all sorts of foul names.

Lighthouseturquoise · 16/10/2016 18:48

A7mints I feel I need to point something out.

You say she had a history of drunken one night stands with strangers. That is all well and good, however the reason that Ched Evans was convicted and not Clayton, was because.

The complainant willingly went to the hotel room with Clayton, so he may have had reasonable belief that she was consenting. Ched Evans broke into the hotel room by lying to a receptionist then walked in while the girl and his friend were having sex and joined in, he admitted that he didn't even speak to the girl, then when he had finished he snuck out of the hotel via a fire exit.

I accept the verdict and I accept that we will never truly know what happened in that hotel room, but I do wish people would get their facts straight. She didn't go back with Ched.

Also, I have a history of having all sorts of sex with my husband, it doesn't mean that one day, if I'm not in the mood, or I'm too drunk, that he can't rape me.

Isitadoubleentendre · 16/10/2016 18:56

Yep, neither of those guys were 'people she doesn't know'. There was no evidence to suggest that she would be perfectly fine with a complete stranger walking into a room where she was naked and having sex. Evans himself said that she didn't really react when he walked in, she didn't scream, she didbt say who the fuck are you, she just apparently 'looked at him'. In the dark.

Now this could be because she is a total 'slag' who is perfectly happy for anyone to walk in and have a go on her without bothering to find out who they are first. And i guess that as long as she is happy with that and perfectly consenting for this to happen, then that is her prerogative. However neither witness gave any evidence to suggest this was the case.

Or it could be because she didn't really know what was going on.

Isitadoubleentendre · 16/10/2016 19:02

Oh and let's not forget 'Are you gonna suck this cock or what? No?'

Does that sound like something you would say to someone who is 'enthusiastically directing sexual proceedings'?

What about 'keep an eye on the girl in room 14, she's 'sick' fromCM to the receptionist?

Unfortunately that one wasnt heard in this trial for whatever reason.

a7mints · 17/10/2016 00:01

I don't think I have my facts wrong

Ched Evans broke into the hotel room by lying to a receptionist

He didn't break in-he had a key.Ched Evans had booked the room himself for his friend who had invited him in

Marbleheadjohnson · 17/10/2016 00:05

You definitely had the fact about her going off for sex with strangers wrong , a7. She had known one of the witnesses for several years. The other was also an acquaintance. If is all in the appeal document. So there was no documented history of one night stands with strangers.

Marbleheadjohnson · 17/10/2016 00:14

see paragraphs 23 and 32

ZuleikaDobson · 17/10/2016 00:24

Good grief, a sensible article from Jan Moir for once: www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3841992/Yes-Saint-Ched-Innocent-free-girl-s-life-tatters-nightmare-continues-writes-JAN-MOIR.html

PortiaCastis · 17/10/2016 00:28

Good God who'd have thought the Fail would come up trumps.

Marbleheadjohnson · 17/10/2016 00:32

Shit the bed. This really is the oddest year, I don't know what to think about life any more.

HelenaDove · 17/10/2016 01:11

Is Brookstein the one who won the first X Factor?

What did Sharon Osbourne say about him.

I dont do reality tv. apart from Strictly. apart from when im at my DMs and have no choice

HelenaDove · 17/10/2016 01:43

Just watched an old clip on youtube.

Sharon seems to have pegged what he was like as a person from day one.

M00nUnit · 17/10/2016 02:30

My god, I never thought I'd see the day when I'd actually agree with an article by Jan Moir, of all people.

And I've always quite liked Rizzle Kicks, I like them even more now. Steve Brockstein however...WTF?

LuisCarol · 17/10/2016 02:38

He didn't break in-he had a key.Ched Evans had booked the room himself for his friend who had invited him in

Please finish the following sentence... "Ched Evans had booked the room himself for his friend who had invited him in, therefore he had reasonable grounds to assume..."

BoneyBackJefferson · 17/10/2016 06:58

a7mints

Have you already forgotten that ched had to lie to the receptionist to get the key?

PortiaCastis · 17/10/2016 14:24

I wonder how many sexual partners Ched and Natalie have had? What's good for the gkose is good for the gander as my Mum says.
Just a thought

Petition re sexual history has now gone live...

Elendon · 18/10/2016 15:23

He shouldn't be sticking his dick into random people he's just met and hasn't spoken to, especially if he already has a partner. Washing your penis after sex doesn't mean you will be safe from sti's.

He's decidedly average looking, earns a load of money and thinks because he is a footballer he can sex with whomever he likes. If he didn't want to end up in jail, then he should sit at home with his girlfriend and baby and watch tele. Simples.

Marbleheadjohnson · 18/10/2016 15:24

just to clarify even more to you, a7, how you have your facts wrong when you say "It is not that the girl is not a virgin, it is that she has a history of getting drunk, going with people she doesn't know and enthusiastically directing sexual proceedings"

She had known one witness for 13 years. In other words, since she was a child. She did not have sex with him before she knew him.

She had known one witness since earlier in the same year. They did not have sex the first time they met.

Elendon · 18/10/2016 15:39

real victims of rape Which would be what exactly?

Husbands can be charged and jailed for raping their wives. Or do you think this is nonsensical?

Lighthouseturquoise · 18/10/2016 15:44

What the actual fuck? He lied to the receptionist to get the key.

Just because he paid for the room doesn't mean he had the right to rape whoever was in it.

The girl went back to the room with Clayton, Evans snuck in afterwards therefore it was decided that Clayton had grounds to believe she consented, Evans did not. That was what the initial verdict was based on.

What is it about that people don't get?

PortiaCastis · 18/10/2016 16:29

Ladies, I e-mailed my MP and have just recieved a reply asking me for my address so he could respond personally about this debacle.
I will wait with baited breath for a reply but if I get one I'll let the gist of it be known

Tarla · 18/10/2016 16:32

I'm not even going to bother emailing my MP, he was in favour of the proposals by Nadine Dorries that centred around the idea that teaching little girls to say no would lead to less sexual abuse Hmm

Memoires · 18/10/2016 17:09

Well done, Portia. I, for one, would like to know what he says.
