My DD is just 4 months old, we've not visited my best mates for 3 weeks as her LB (5) had chicken pox. She told me the coast was clear so I popped in for a visit.
I get a message today telling me her youngest now has pox. Aibu to be fuming at her for putting my daughter at risk? I know I am also at fault but I'm so angry right now... my daughters been poorly with a cold & has just cluster fed all day, refusing to sleep. I'm taking her to the doctors in the morning.
Aibu vent this anger at risking my daughters health at my friend?

OP why on earth would you take your baby to the doctor? They don't have a crystal ball and, generally speaking, they don't want you to go in with chicken pox due to the infection risk for vulnerable patients.

How close was her contact with the infectious child? Chances are she will be fine TBH.

Yabu. It's your own fault really seeing as you knew she had 2 kids and incubationerrors aren't the same.

You should have stayed away until the incubator period for dc2 had passed.

GinIsIn · 13/10/2016 23:48

What on earth do you think the doctor is going to do? Please stay away - if your DC has caught it all you will do is spread it around.

You chose to see your friend, knowing one of her children had recently had it - she had no way of knowing her other child would get it, same as you did!

Oh what a bitch your friend is, imagine deliberately hiding her child onset of chicken pox so they could make sure your baby was exposed to it. Definitely go to see the GP because yo are pissed off at your bad friend. Or you could get a grip and realise that you both knew her child had had CP recently and you chose to take your baby there. Also please, don't take your baby to the doctor unless they are actually neednign to see a doctor, what a waste of valuable resources. And finally, I LOVE this thread, so thanks to everyone 🐔
