My DD is just 4 months old, we've not visited my best mates for 3 weeks as her LB (5) had chicken pox. She told me the coast was clear so I popped in for a visit.
I get a message today telling me her youngest now has pox. Aibu to be fuming at her for putting my daughter at risk? I know I am also at fault but I'm so angry right now... my daughters been poorly with a cold & has just cluster fed all day, refusing to sleep. I'm taking her to the doctors in the morning.
Aibu vent this anger at risking my daughters health at my friend?

A4 month old with a cold, cluster feeding and the possibility of chicken pox really does not need to see a doctor.

MidniteScribbler · 12/10/2016 22:52

Well that was a predictable outcome to the thread.

I am SO glad this thread does actually include chicken pics. Here is one of the chicks we hatched this summer.

Agreed the OP is being U in apportioning blame but it's also VU to dismiss chickenpox as nothing to worry about. In most cases that's true. My ds1 and dd had barely any symptoms but ds2 had the most awful time, was on anti viral medication and was in hospital.

How unkind to take the piss. I'm sure mumsnetters are a different breed these days.

Look at this marvellous cock

Mine had CP three weeks apart; DS1 had the lightest case ever - about 18 spots. DS2 was riddled with spots - they were everywhere and he was a miserable little sausage - but he got through it. I was slightly panicked as DS1 has been contagious in the last 2 days of the school term unknown to me.

liz70 · 12/10/2016 23:32

Your cock sure is standing proud there, scootin.

This sounds like you are going to the Dr's out of spite. "look so-called friend, your behaviour put my baby so much at risk she needs immediate medical attention!"

Please don't waste the GP's time. She has a cold. Keep her at home rather than dragging a child who feels ill to sit in a GP surgery for ages.

scootinFun · 13/10/2016 17:58

It is annoying and frustrating - but you would would be very unreasonable to blame your friend for it. These things happen, and best to get them out of the way earlier rather than later I think. Keep your little one home in the warm, make sure she has plenty of fluids and cuddles, and it will all pass - one way or the other!!

YABU, OP. You could have predicted this just as much as your friend. Don't go to the GP, all it will achieve is infecting lots of people who, unlike you, had no choice about being exposed to it.

Thrilled to see MN didn't disappoint and you lovely people all posted chicken pictures as promised.
