(Posted on behalf of Dh) AIBU to be cross about the Lloyds advert

Dh has asked me to post this

The Lloyds advert has come on, the one where the horse is running through all the scenes.

He usually loves it. Tonight he is pissed off. The scene where the man is proposing to his boyfriend has been cut out.

Why?!

Are you sure it's not just a shortened version and other things have been cut out too?

RoseValleyRambles · 11/10/2016 19:49

It may just be a slightly different length of ad spot - often several different cuts are produced, and shorter versions run once the full 'film' has played out for a few weeks.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 11/10/2016 19:50

For a different time slot.

Soubriquet · 11/10/2016 19:50

I said that, but he pointed out that they could have left something else out and not cut the only gay scene

I hate that horse , it's like the horse of death running through people's lives and cursing them . It's a horrible sinister advert. The couple have had a lucky escape.

Ptarmigandancinginthegloaming · 11/10/2016 19:52

I think ur DH should possibly get out more ;-)

Soubriquet · 11/10/2016 19:52

Probably Grin

mrsblackcat · 11/10/2016 19:53

I love it. I've been known to shed a little tear :)

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 11/10/2016 19:55

There are four versions - I'm not sure if they are all still running - each with a different scene removed. Then the full-length version.

Unfortunately I do think that one is the most noticeable, and it's the most memorable scene, but I think all four versions are shown. It's just so that they can save costs on paying for a shorter slot, but still appeal to the various segments.

Soubriquet · 11/10/2016 19:56

I shall tell him that Anchor and hope he stops sulking

AmeliaJack · 11/10/2016 19:57

Get him to tweet Lloyds and ask why. They'll reply.

I imagine it's about cost. Internally Lloyds are very big on diversity and LBGT issues.

Soubriquet · 11/10/2016 19:58

We don't have Twitter Shock

I don't understand it tbh, so never signed up to it.

FlyingElbows · 11/10/2016 19:59

I've never seen that version. I love that advert, everything should have horses running in it.

Soubriquet · 11/10/2016 19:59

Hahahahaha!!!!

He was hoping for more "it's ok. Don't let it worry you. It will be on again at some point" type posts GrinGrinGrin

He obviously hasn't seen AIBU

StarlingMurmuration · 11/10/2016 19:59

I think that, unless they've got various versions with different bits cut out, they should have left the proposal scene.

It always gives me a bit of a fly in my eye, tbh.

mrsblackcat · 11/10/2016 20:01

Flying

Totally :)

AmeliaJack · 11/10/2016 20:04

OK, he can email them though. They won't mind.

Soubriquet · 11/10/2016 20:05

here is the full advert if you want to see

Though now you've said death horse that's all I can see

OP posts:
mrsblackcat · 11/10/2016 20:06

It is not a death horse! How very dare you Grin Wink

It is a beautiful noble steed!

Soubriquet · 11/10/2016 20:09

He's big...and black!!

Perfect horse for a funeral carriage

OP posts:
Pardonwhat · 11/10/2016 20:10

How can anyone not like the horse!? The lloyds tsb adverts make me cry. I'm sure I've read somewhere that they actually own a black horse.

Soubriquet · 11/10/2016 20:11

They probably so own a horse. Which they rent out for funeral processions Grin

Queenbean · 11/10/2016 20:12

I think your dp should register for MN and post this himself!

Soubriquet · 11/10/2016 20:14

But that means handing over my phone and actually doing something!
