along with half a 400g run of baked beans and chips.

Need to settle an arguement.

Cheers

Yes my 7yo has 3 fish fingers, about 10-15 chips and 1/3 of tin of beans.

forburylion · 04/10/2016 19:46

Way too much for a 3yo. I wouldn't even eat 6 fish fingers as an adult! My 5yo can manage 2.

RaspberryBeret34 · 04/10/2016 19:46

My ds (on the slim side of average) could have eaten that much at times, other times he'd have a few mouthfuls. I think if it's a regular thing it's a lot but as part of a random hungry day it's not something I'd worry about.

Heirhelp · 04/10/2016 19:47

That would be the maximum salt allowance for a day.

ConvincingLiar · 04/10/2016 19:47

Sounds like an awful lot. I'd have 4 for me and 1-2 for a 2 year old.

Babyroobs · 04/10/2016 19:47

My 16 and 14 year old huge boys the size of adults ate 5 fish fingers for tea tonight with chips and peas. I would say 6 is a lot for a 3 year old.

AyeAmarok · 04/10/2016 19:48

Yes. I'd even say 2 plus chips and beans is quite a big dinner for a 3 year old.

Wilberforce2 · 04/10/2016 19:49

My 2.5 year old has one and my 8 year old boy has 3!

IEatLemonCurdFromTheJar · 04/10/2016 19:50

Yes!
My 6&3 year olds have 3 and my 2 year old struggles to finish 2!

PinkSwimGoggles · 04/10/2016 19:51

if the meal is only fish fingers and nothing else 6 of them sounds about right.

flanjabelle · 04/10/2016 19:54

Far too much.

TealGiraffe · 04/10/2016 19:55

Too much. Im a porker and wouldnt eat 6!

I would make a 3 year old 2 maybe 3.

AmysTiara · 04/10/2016 19:55

Yes far too many

Mynestisfullofempty · 04/10/2016 19:56

PinkSwimGoggles the OP says with baked beans and chips.

Juanbablo · 04/10/2016 19:56

Yes that's too much. My almost 9 year old with a big appetite would eat 3 fish fingers. My 6 and 2 year olds eat 2 fish fingers. 6 is ridiculous. I don't think even dh would eat 6!

onecurrantbun1 · 04/10/2016 19:56

Far too much imo. Even a McDonald's Happy Meal or kids meal in a pub is usually only 3 and they are for up to age 10 or so.

Mynestisfullofempty · 04/10/2016 19:56

Forgot to reply to the question. Yes, I agree it's far too much.

livingthegoodlife · 04/10/2016 19:57

My 4 year old would eat 3 fish fingers, 2 tablespoons of beans and one tablespoons worth of chips. To be honest we wouldn't have chips so it would just be fingers and beans.

I think 6 is way too many.

DotForShort · 04/10/2016 19:58

Sounds like a lot to me. And I'm no extremist WRT nutrition, but it doesn't sound a very healthy meal even if the quantities were smaller.

GrumpyOldBag · 04/10/2016 20:00

Blimey. I only give my 14 year old rugby playing son 4 fish fingers.

No baked beans either - 2 fresh veg and home made potato wedges.

Um, yes!! I just ate 6 fish fingers, 200g tin of baked beans and some sweetcorn and I'm pretty full. I'm a bit of a fatty too!

cornishglos · 04/10/2016 20:02

I couldn't eat that. Much too much.

jessica29054 · 04/10/2016 20:03

It's not, Dot but it's fairly standard kiddie freezer food and no worse than some.

Six is far too many though, OP.

I think two is standard, maybe three if your (general your, not personally your) kid is liable to get peckish.

It sounds like he isn't your child or if he's getting that somewhere else though.

Personally I think those boil in the bag servings of cod are nicer and more filling. Served with a jacket, and either sweet corn or peas or both. It's just as easy as fish fingers and much more filling and tasty I think :)

VerbenaGirl · 04/10/2016 20:03

Yes! I'd say a couple? 6 is a man sized portion.
