He's just so dreamy, its like someone took an account of everything rosecreams likes in a man and then made him to order, yummy!

Too bad he's married with a couple of kids (and that he used to hang out with Jimmy Savile) but still ...swoon!

all well all the more Louis for me! I suppose someone will come along soon to stake a claim on their share, surely I can't be alone?

YABU for describing him as yummy 😷
Sorry OP. I (irrationally) hate the word Grin

DownWithThisSortaThing · 03/10/2016 17:50

I do like him though, but he's not my type.

WaitrosePigeon · 03/10/2016 17:51

I fancy him too Blush

ImperialBlether · 03/10/2016 17:52

He's not yummy but yes, he's really great. I think he's one that I would be amazed if I found out he wasn't as nice as he appears to be.

EssentialHummus · 03/10/2016 17:53

What imperial said. Can our public schools churn out more Louises please?

Shinyshoes2 · 03/10/2016 17:54

To me he comes across as charming
I fancy him too

rosecreams · 03/10/2016 17:55

I guess he is a certain type a bit diffident and nerdy but smart and lovely. A writer I know once interviewed him for her blog and said he was just as he appears but very difficult to pin down.

I really, really like Jim but can't say I fancy him. He seems like a very genuine person

Nakatomi · 03/10/2016 17:58

I think he's incredibly sexy (is that the right word?) and I would in a heartbeat. He's not conventionally handsome, but I think it's his intelligence and his ability to empathise with some truly awful people. What cemented it for me was when he was being questioned by drunk neo-Nazis in a Southern hick town as to whether he was Jewish or not. He continually refused to answer, saying "race isn't important to me." and I assumed it was because he was Jewish and felt uncomfortable. Later found out he isn't, which just made him better in my eyes. He could've very easily ended that discussion by saying he wasn't, but he didn't want to give the impression that being Jewish was somehow bad.

I don't really mind about the Savile thing. I do genuinely think Louis was hoodwinked by him a bit but he did keep the friendship going to try and uncover more about him. I'm glad Louis was able to find some comfort in the fact that for the 2 years he filmed Savile, there was no reported abuse, so it could well be that he saved a few people from the horror of him.

AnyFucker · 03/10/2016 17:59

He's mine Angry

Nakatomi · 03/10/2016 18:00

Rosecreams

I've heard that too from someone who interviewed him. Said he was lovely and genuine and just as he appears but you get the feeling he's good at masking certain things. I don't think that's a bad thing, most documentary makers are like that so that they can remain objective. I have noticed that since he's had kids he's become a bit more open about how he feels about things, which I like.

CousinCharlotte · 03/10/2016 18:01

He comes across as a thoroughly decent chap.

rosecreams · 03/10/2016 18:02

Nakatomi, that is a really great summery of why he is so gifted at what he does, it is so very subtle and humane while still being clever and insightful. His intelligence and empathy are a bit part of his appeal to be sure.

AnyFucker can't we share?

I thought I was the only one! Grin

Nakatomi · 03/10/2016 18:14

Rosecreams I think you're right, I think it's a big part of his appeal. I've watched nearly all of Louis' documentaries and found myself enjoying ones on subjects I never would have otherwise. When I found myself liking Ann Widdecombe I knew he was a good documentarian! Grin

shrunkenhead · 03/10/2016 18:18

And I thought it was just me!

KanyesVest · 03/10/2016 18:26

Louis is lovely. But I'll leave you to fight over him while I sidle up to Jon Ronson.

WTAFF · 03/10/2016 18:32

YANBU. I think he is just marvellous.

RaptorInaPorkPieHat · 03/10/2016 18:39

I think he's proper gorgeous. Mind you, I obviously have a type because DH is the spitting image of him smug Grin

stabbypokey · 03/10/2016 18:43

You would all have to climb over me first. He's tall, intelligent, a diffident air and really funny. Louis and Jarvis Cocker would be the only two men I would throw myself at shamelessly.

PatMullins · 03/10/2016 18:47

stabby you have a type, then? Grin

LolaStarr · 03/10/2016 18:49

YANBU, he's lovely!

creamcheeseandlox · 03/10/2016 18:55

Me...I find him quite...lush. Wink
