I treat myself to an electric blanket.

Now, I will clarify that I don't know what 'that age' is but I feel that my excitement over my new electric under blanket probably means I have reached it!

How did you reach 'that age'?

I was talking about a fun run near us to another teacher today and was on about how KM it is and she looked at me and asked "what's that in old money?"

At least I'm not that old yet! Grin

Socksey · 06/10/2016 15:12

My Dad got me an electric underblanket for my 25th.... best present I ever had....

EtTuTuttiFrutti · 06/10/2016 16:00

I'm going gambling this weekend.
Not Las Vegas, Lyme Regis.

I love those Penny Shuffle machines.

Mark my words, once word gets out, those Kardachians and the rest of them will be flocking to the bright lights of Lyme Regis.

Laska5772 · 06/10/2016 21:17

Oh look! and yes it ^is the most expensive one they do! ..but its going on my (soon to be 59th) birthday list !!

dementedma · 06/10/2016 21:29

No heating on here but I do have a hot water bottle and a fleecy throw. As it is nearly 9.30 it must be bedtime. I do a lot of groaning when standing up from a seated position. I am wearing my reading glasses...
I am fucking old!

PeppaTheFirst · 06/10/2016 21:56

Friends and I were out for a meal and decided to head to a local bar for cocktails. The music in the bar was far too loud and I couldn't hear the conversation (turns out friends were discussing slow cooker recipes and couldn't hear either). We were all glad to leave and I had a nice cup of tea and some digestives when I got home. We are in our 30s!!!

poppym12 · 06/10/2016 22:45

The heating is on but I can still feel a draught around my feet so I have a fleecy blanket over my knees. And it's beige.

ssd · 06/10/2016 22:48

I went out with a very good friend for my 50th, we had a glass of prosecco at lunch and were going to hit the champagne bar in town, gorgeous place, very classy (so I'm told, never been)

we decided to just have a coffee and get the train home, in time for the kids coming back from school and getting the dinner on

and it was a bloody great day, I loved it Grin

ssd · 06/10/2016 22:49

laska, seriously, thats gorgeous, if I wasnt permanently hot I'd get that

Jakadaal · 06/10/2016 23:04

My magazine habit is now Good housekeeping and Woman and Home rather than Cosmo Hmm

OhGodWhatTheHellNow · 06/10/2016 23:07

I've just had the call up to have my boobs squished in a machine - it must be a mistake, I'm only 50 31...

Trying to work out if the new brown spots on my hands are freckles or liver spots Shock

OhGodWhatTheHellNow · 06/10/2016 23:08

...Ooh, ooh and having to search for EEE fit shoes Sad

ClementineWardrobe · 06/10/2016 23:16

What are the best magazines for when you reach that age? I hate Cosmo. I'm 90 mentally at least. Jakadaal of your 2 which is better?

JigokuShojou · 07/10/2016 05:49

Jamie magazine, Good Housekeeping etc.

EtTuTuttiFrutti · 07/10/2016 07:44

Gardens Illustrated is lovely, particularly the pictures when you can't find your glasses because they're hiding on your head.

I like to garden and have bright pink strap on knees. I look pretty epic. If I wore sparkly knickers over my trousers I would look a bit Super hero ish.

CaroleService · 07/10/2016 08:12

Plug in fleece blanket to keep me warm during GBBO ...

EachandEveryone · 07/10/2016 08:19

I keep trying to convince myself I'm coming down with something that's why I'm flushing so much.

I have a kitten and I make a funny noise every time I bend to pick her up.

I went to see an 80's band the other night and was shocked how middle aged and boring all the blokes looked compared to the women who at least were still making an effort.

KatieScarlett · 07/10/2016 08:46

Laska I'm getting the grey one...

Badders123 · 07/10/2016 09:02

I have a fleecy blanket and a slanket Smile
I wear bed socks
And if I could find a nice one I would wear a bed jacket Grin
I'm 44 tomorrow Confused

DollyBarton · 07/10/2016 09:05

I actually thought the other day that a housecoat with pockets would be 'handy'.

DollyBarton · 07/10/2016 09:08

Oh and the other day in the hairdressers I was amazed to discover 'Good Housekeeping' was way better than Hello, Cosmo, And all the celeb mags I used to pour over as mental chewing gum.

(I may have used my Tesco points to buy a subscription to BBC Good Food😳)

DollyBarton · 07/10/2016 09:08

I'm 34.

brasty · 07/10/2016 09:57

A housecoat with pockets would be handy. An elderly neighbour of mine wears one.

brasty · 07/10/2016 10:29

These look like traditional housecoats with pockets.
