I know I have reached 'that age' when

I treat myself to an electric blanket.

Now, I will clarify that I don't know what 'that age' is but I feel that my excitement over my new electric under blanket probably means I have reached it!

How did you reach 'that age'?

I've said it so often, DD just does it automatically MaQ
She's writing about me on Stately Homes, isn't she?

MaQueen · 04/10/2016 21:41

As we speak, DH is contentedly watching Michael Portillo's 'Great European Train Journeys' whilst drinking tea from his mug.

WTF happened to him???

MaQueen · 04/10/2016 21:44

Yes,KS, yes she is...

Luckily my DDs kindly humour me and politely change out of their ripped jeans and Converse before we go shopping...and change into what DD1 calls 'Our Enid Blyton clothes' (sarcastic little Madam that she is...)

Shockers · 04/10/2016 21:53

I'm realising that I've reached that age because I'm menstruating every two weeks. The sweats and irritability have almost stopped though. I feel this is the beginning of the end of 15 years of hormonal crap.

Onwards and upwards!

ssd · 04/10/2016 21:54

I bloody love this thread Grin

cozietoesie · 04/10/2016 21:56

You'll be able to laugh (gently) at her in 30 years, MaQ. Wink

MaQueen · 04/10/2016 22:00

Oh I fully intend to cozie [determined]

coffeeandbubbles · 04/10/2016 22:01

I put a sign up at work reminding people to dry and put away their plates and cutlery etc. instead of leaving it all on the draining board.

cozietoesie · 04/10/2016 22:02

Oh Dear, coffee.

Fascinate · 04/10/2016 22:02

OMG how old does that make me then, I have a cooling gel mat under my pillow!

KatieScarlett · 04/10/2016 22:03

I am on leave this week.
Was having a house free leg wax yesterday morning when I heard the doorbell.
Of course, I ignore this as we live in cold-calling central and the postman had already been.
Next thing I hear is my blind SF yoo-hooing from the bottom of the stairs.
I throw on a dressing gown and tear downstairs to be greeted by SF, his brand new guide dog and his brand new guide dog trainer (lovely girl).
I just stammered and oh so jokingly excused my deshabille while concentrating on the dog.
While discussing this with mum today, she consoled me by saying at least the house was clean and the garden was neat and tidy.
I did feel better knowing that, it has to be said.

MaQueen · 04/10/2016 22:03

I might have done that too coffee and laminated it as well

Laska5772 · 04/10/2016 22:05

Hmm.. , looking up that saltwater sandals website for you all , I see they had the rose gold ones i originally wanted back in stock in my size .. so I bought them! (actually I realise i'd linked the wrong shoes earlier these are they so i now have both the gold and the rose gold.. all of your faults, and I dont care... roll on next summer.. !!

Knee pillow is still new on me .. what is it supposed to do?

Nakatomi · 04/10/2016 22:07

DP has just walked in wearing a cardigan and slippers whilst I sit with a tartan travelling rug (wtaf is one of those?!) over my knee with two cats curled on my lap doing a crossword. I am officially old. This is my life now.

cozietoesie · 04/10/2016 22:07

It's not the sign as such - more, When do you start actually noticing things? Smile I'm sure that I went through my early years completely oblivious to most of the social niceties.

KatieScarlett · 04/10/2016 22:08

Takes the pressure off a crumbling hip, in my case.
Or it will, when it gets here.

Nakatomi · 04/10/2016 22:08

Reading that post back it makes it sound like the cats are doing the crossword. Just to clarify, they aren't. That would require them to actually do something all day other than sleep.

cozietoesie · 04/10/2016 22:08

A cardigan?

redjumpergirl78 · 04/10/2016 22:09

I stopped watching Eastenders and started listening to The Archers! God I love it!

Nakatomi · 04/10/2016 22:09

Yes or in my case the knee pillow actually stops my knees from clattering together and giving me immense pain when I wake up in the morning. The only bad thing is the cats find it hilarious to try and sleep in the gap in between my legs. Little gits.

KatieScarlett · 04/10/2016 22:10

When DH got his new car 12 months ago, it was tuned to Smooth FM.
It still is.

cozietoesie · 04/10/2016 22:12

I'm afraid I don't know 'Smooth FM'.

Is that an 'easy listening' station? Grin

Nakatomi · 04/10/2016 22:14

Not just any cardigan CozieToesie a cardigan with those diamond patterns you only get on old men's clothing. Not a trendy Daniel Craig style, it's a proper Val Doonican one. (There I go again, what young person knows who Val bloody Doonican is?)

KatieScarlett · 04/10/2016 22:14

It's so easy, it's practically comatose.

Laska5772 · 04/10/2016 22:19

Ouch Nakatomi , sorry to hear that , I am only still intact hip and joint wise , because i am officially lazy ..
