Nothing worse than biting into a burger to find a hidden gherkin!

Why do they use them? Do they hate us?!

Derek, re your other thread , maybe your tenant would be very put out if you ate a jar of gherkins...

I hate them I'm with the OP.

You know what Derek, I am sad. I thought you were suave and classy and sophisticated. First, you say you don't like the gerkin. Ok, I can live with that but then I find out you had a banana milkshake. 😱😱😱

Dog I agree banana milkshake is wrong but as I'm 39 weeks pregnant I get a pass on it

Fresh burger [shudder] I much prefer one that's been sat a while. A fresh ones cheese hasn't all melted just right and gone totes plasticky. Sometimes the corners snap instead a of dripping all around in the special gooey way

I agree with OP. They're vile.

They are the best bit!

Any sandwich is improved with the addition of gherkin. Except pate maybe Grin

Gherkins are lovely, but what McDs serve are not. Their version is disgusting! I always burp for hours if I eat it.

Many a moon ago when we were teenagers, my DH used to work at McDonald's, in the kitchen. His hands always used to stink of gherkins no matter how much he washed them. Horrible.

I agree gherkins are wrong. I thought you had another cunning plan Derek. Your DD is gonna see straight through that one.

imnotreally · 28/09/2016 19:55

Derek. Do you not know that as a landlady it is required for you to like gherkins and request them at unseasonable hours from the landlord?!

Seriously the best bit.

RortyCrankle · 28/09/2016 21:09

I don't have a McD very often but when I do I always ask for my cheese quarter pounder plain, which means (a) no vile gherkin or horrible sauce and (b) it will be freshly cooked so won't have been languishing under a heat lamp. Win win.

" I feel Sorry for your children"

I managed to convince my girls for quite some years that they didn't like gherkins, and to just hand them straight over to me without question.

I'm a terbil person :-(

I've never even had a McDonald's burger. I don't like them Blush

DramaAlpaca · 28/09/2016 21:44

I'm with you on this one, Derek. I fish the gherkins out before I eat the burger. Disgusting things.

I have managed to pass the gherkin hate on to my children

I hate gherkins! Always pass them to DH before even taking a bite of burger.

Report
Niggit · 28/09/2016 22:08

Gherkins are awesome! But I don't like the ones out of jars - they're usually too wishy washy and sweet. Now and again I find a jar that's been made with proper vinegar. Then there is much rejoicing in Niggit Towers.
