Nothing worse than biting into a burger to find a hidden gherkin!

Why do they use them? Do they hate us?!

Dino it was a surprise McDonald's from the mother. Turns out she leaves gherkins in for the sister who is a gherkin lover

I don't like tomatoes. My friend doesn't like pickles. Whenever we go out, she asks for her pickles on the side and I ask for my tomatoes on the side, and we switch. :D

Yuck, hate them (hence why Burger King is my favourite). DP eats massive gherkins from the jar and insists that Boxing Day tea is cold meat, mash and various pickles (including the aforementioned gherkins). Wrong, just wrong.

I love their gherkins! The bites of burger where you get gherkins are the best ones! And I haven't found jarred gherkins that taste as good.

Speaking of those of you who order your burger without gherkins.....a friend of mine worked in McDonald's when we were teenagers. He hated every second of it, but needed the money, so stuck with it. He told me once that he was in the middle of a very busy lunchtime rush one Saturday, and kept getting all these awkward people ordering their "special burgers" without this or that and he'd had enough. Arsehole bully from our school walked in and ordered his burger without gherkins....final straw for my friend. He dunked the entire burger in the pickle pot .....safe to say he didn't work at McDonald's for very long after that!

Can you seriously ask for more at MacD? How have I got to be so old and not know that?! Please tell me you are not lying..... I can have them?

I love a gherkin, especially with a pork pie, never had a McDonald's so can't comment about that.

Certainly apple pie must count as one of the five a day, as does chocolate since it's derived from a plant.

Urgh hate the things. They taste disgusting and the texture is like.... I don't know,sort of plastic-y. I always take them out of my Big Mac or cheeseburger,but occasionally some joker has hidden one underneath the meat pattie,instead of placing it on top. OMG the revulsion I feel when I bite into it.

Gerkins are delicious, just don't ruin them with a Maccy D burger [boke]

Oh god they are AMAZING. I finally got over my embarrassment and had a cheeseburger with no burger in it from McDonalds, extra pickles. Food of the gods.

I thought frickles were only in Scotland? I guess I'll be visiting Pizza Hut for the first time in forever.

IsItJustMe, few days go by without Krakus Dill in our house- they are the best. Mrs Ellwood's are too sweet.

As a variation on the theme, Booths have started to sell Spanish 'baby gherkins' which are just like French cornichons. They make me very happy.

In the summer I discovered that one of their McDs chicken burgers had gerkins, bliss.

in the days when I worked at McDonalds, I was told that the exact placement of the pickles was important. They should be "kissing not F**king"
