Nothing worse than biting into a burger to find a hidden gherkin!

Why do they use them? Do they hate us?!

The lettuce looks nice when it comes out of the bag, less so after 20mins in the production bin though. So yes, lol, bin lettuce Grin

I can't stand gherkins. Worked at McD's for 5 miserable years and hated coming home stinking of pickles and onions Envy

was the posh burger place Byron, mrsjayy? I went there and got a whole pickle as well. it was ACE.

Does anyone know where Byron buy their pickles from? they were amazing, but the guys there could only tell me they were delivered to them in a BIG jar...

I always chuck the gerkin away as its horrible and I always thought I disliked them.

Until I had one in a American style restaurant..I did groan when it came with a massive gherkin but thought I would try it.

McDonalds have been passing off bits of slime as gherkins all these years

I always order my burgers with no gherkins, its the only way to make sure that you dont get a burger that has been sat there for nearly an hour.

We have complained about our local one several times, the timecards only seem to be there for decoration. The only way to get fresh food is a grill order and luckily I loathe gherkins!

I don't like them but when we take the kids for a treat my little girls always asks for a box of gherkins they always say yes to her she's only. 3 but would refused to eat her McDonald's without them.

Footle I've just opened a jar of Krakus dill pickles, mmmmm. DD got them cos she was making a mushroom burger in food tech today, I nearly forgot they were in the fridge til I spied this thread!

I like the gherkins at McDonalds but have to agree that Byron Burger pickles are the best. Plus the burgers are the best, all slightly pink and greasy as sin.

I am liking the sound of the frickle. We rarely go to pizza hut but I will if theres fried pickles.

My kids always give me their pickles too.

Quit moaning. They make up one of your five a day.

Hang on so a banana milkshake and gherkins make up two of my five a day.

McDonalds for dinner it is then.

Great to see all the gherkin love on this thread.

I always ask for extra gherkins and no ketchup.

I love gherkins, and until recently liked MacDonalds ones too. Then I realised they taste like gripe water and it put me off...

4 out of 5?

brilliant

Report
DinosaursRoar · 28/09/2016 17:29

OP - if you don't like them, why don't you ask for a burger without the gherkin? They will leave them off if you ask. (and if enough people ask, they'll make them without and then it be an option to add them)

But obviously you are wrong, they taste yummy. (What's with all the people who don't like food on MN today?!)

I FUCKING LOVE GHERKINS

Gherkins are vile.
The garden centre near where I live has a café that is perfect in every way (including very soundproofed soft play area so you can lose the kids) except for one. Lovely burger with a huge gherkin ON TOP of the bun! At least it's easy to get rid of.
Does a McDonalds apple pie count at part of your 5 a day too?
