AIBU?

COULD MY HOUSE HAVE A GHOST?

user1473872482 · 27/09/2016 20:52

Since last year I have had strange going ons in my house. For example - seeing things out of the corner of my eyes, a quick glimpse of ghost child, a white sort of apparition walking around my bed at night when I was trying to get to sleep and something white being thrown in my direction and when I look to pick it up it is not there.

Could I be imagining these things?

OMG, someone else who has heard of this!! I have been to the doctors on multiple occasions and stopped going when I started getting looks that made me think the men in white coats were going to burst into the room! I finally googled it this year and found out I was suffering from hypnopompic hallucinations (and occasional hypnagogic ones too). From my earliest memories it's been going on for at least 20 years!

People saying they don't post on woo threads because they're silly? But surely this is a woo thread?

OP makesure your carbon monoxide alarm is working first & foremost.

Northend Do you sleep on your back? One of the biggest things that helped me was getting myself used to sleeping on my side/front. Stress has always been a major trigger for me aswell.

My grandmothers house was rumoured to be haunted by the ghost of a young girl
The key word there being "rumoured".
No proof - there never is any proof - ever.
Why is that do you think?

I have seen more than 1 ghost.

When I'm really stressed or tired I have hallucinations in that time when I'm just falling off to sleep. Some of them are really fucking scary! (My bedroom door opening and a person walking in) and some are just baffling (a cocoon opening up in my hand and a moth flying into my en suite Confused) at the start it was always a black animal (cat, rat, spider) but it has started to vary. Really unsettling until I manage to wake myself up properly and let my rational brain kick in.

Sometimes during the day I catch glimpses of things out the side of my eye and it would be very easy to convince myself it was real but it's not. It's my tired brain trying to make sense of my head turning too fast whilst trying to concentrate on something else.

Billions of people world wide believe totally thst Jesus Christ. Allah and assorted Gods exist and rule the world. So by that token believing in ghosts is Perfectly normal.

before we start jumping to conclusions always rule out the plausible before you start considering the implausible.

such as

when was the last time you had your eyes checked
are you stressed this can lead to your mind playing tricks on you
ever heard of night terrors, you think your awake in bed but actually your asleep and seeing your dreams walk around your bed

Only once you have ruled out everything plausible do you start think o thats a bit odd.Just calm down we all have days when we think we have gone barmy especially when small children have led us to the brink of sleep deprived insanity lol

Yes, it's definitely a ghost.

Buy some Holy Water on eBay or try to find a good YouTube tutorial on exorcisms.

Also, regarding floaters, I went for a walk during my dinner break at work tonight. I saw a huge floater at the top of my field of vision, like a big fat worm. So I "followed" it, with my eyes, that is, I looked up. And saw a dirigible.
