That's it I'm done, I've tried every shape going all different sauces and I have decided once and for all its crap. All it is is boiled dough and I'm done with it

I like nearly everything on this thread too. Including quinoa. Lovely and nutty. Mmmm.

I haven't had corned beef in a long time but am craving some now. I used to have it in a sandwich with sliced tomato.

Purplebluebird · 28/09/2016 15:46

I looove pasta!

IHaveBrilloHair · 28/09/2016 15:47

I like it but wouldn't eat it plain, that's just bleeeurgh. I made a nice sauce last night with corvette, tomato and pesto.

SapphireStrange · 28/09/2016 15:56

Just occasionally I DO like a bowl of plain pasta. Just some salt on it.

This only happens once every few years though, I'm not that weird. Grin

5Foot5 · 28/09/2016 16:00

Quinoa is muck; as are tofu, soya and quorn.

Oh finally something I can agree with. Have never actually tried tofu, soya or quorn but quinoa is pants. It's just like eating damp sand.

Rrross1ges · 28/09/2016 16:10

I've never tried quinoa. It looks like little sperms. I just can't. It's everywhere. Usually with fucking goats cheese. And butternut squash, which is another food I could easily live without.

MitzyLeFrouf · 28/09/2016 16:12

Don't bother with quinoa. It's so blah, plus it's more ethical not to eat it as the Bolivians who have traditionally eaten it cannot afford it since the Westerners got a healthy hard-on for it.

acsec · 28/09/2016 16:12

YABU pasta is my favourite! And goats cheese (though I hate goat meat and lamb because they taste of farm, so dunno why I like goats cheese so much).

I don't like red meat esp lamb - bleurgh. I like most other food though tbh.

beautygal29 · 28/09/2016 16:52

Ready meals have to be the most pointless food ever! The never taste or look like they should and are just so utterly depressing, I can't deal!

GreenShadow · 28/09/2016 17:21

I'm with you sonlypuppyfat. Can't see the appeal of pasta, but appreciate we are in a minority.
I'd never order in a restaurant - seems such a rip-off.

I also agree about red wine - I was beginning to think we should go out to dinner together - until I read about goats cheese - I looove that.

enolagayits0815 · 28/09/2016 17:29

pasta, al dente in a red wine sauce with mustard seeds. Delicious.

I agree with SnugglysnerdSmile

littleprincesssara · 28/09/2016 17:49

I had a pasta dish in Amalfi once that was very tasty, but the sauce tasted exactly like it had Heinz tomato sauce in it.

I can't even look at mayonnaise without feeling sick.

topcat2014 · 28/09/2016 18:53

With the exception of lasagne, I could happily never eat pasta again, ditto rice.

I eat both under sufferance, tbh

astronomical · 28/09/2016 19:09

I'm hungrier after eating an apple than when I started Confused but apples are surprisingly filling, don't you know?

I think the one thing we can nearly all agree on is that CELERY is just not nice at all. It doesn't even work as something to crunch on because the stringy bits get in the way!

astronomical · 28/09/2016 19:13

Porridge is my weakness. Just the right thickness, more milk than water... too much sugar Blush I think I really did have a psychological addiction to it at one point, I have to shout at myself every time I think about having it.

2kids2dogsnosense · 28/09/2016 19:21

astronomical

Agree with you 100% - porridge is amazing!

Woolyheads · 28/09/2016 19:58

Pasta is my main staple.
What do you have instead??

sonlypuppyfat · 28/09/2016 20:20

Spuds!!

Woolyheads · 28/09/2016 20:57

Yeah, you gotta love potatoes. I guess you can do hot pot instead of lasagne. But you have to peel them! I'll meet you half way with gnocchi .

DonttouchthatLarry · 28/09/2016 21:17

I would die without pasta or potatoes! My ancestors fled Ireland during the potato famine so it's in my blood to never be short of potatoes Grin. I often have a bowl of new potatoes with lovely thick gravy and mint sauce for lunch (and I'm not a vegetarian).

I suppose it's true that it's the sauces we serve with pasta that makes it so lovely, but I'd be pretty hungry after some carbonara sauce that didn't have any pasta in it!

I adore celery but agree that olives, goat's cheese and coleslaw are just wrong.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 28/09/2016 21:50

Sapphire you're just like me with this thread .... read a list of hated food stuffs and think to yourself .... Mmmmm, haven't had that for a while actually Grin
