That's it I'm done, I've tried every shape going all different sauces and I have decided once and for all its crap. All it is is boiled dough and I'm done with it

I can't eat cheese at all (lactose intolerant) but pasta is awesome.

CakeByTheOcean · 28/09/2016 08:42

If pasta didn't exist my youngest DD would have starved to death by now. She would eat it every meal if I let her.

sonlypuppyfat · 28/09/2016 08:43

Blanche crime fraiche? Thats a new one Grin

I'm with you OP. Soggy stodgy sloppy muck. I will eat it now and again if I have to but it's bottom of my list.

SharkBastard · 28/09/2016 08:58

YABEXCEPTIONALLYU!!

Pasta is amazing! Gnocchi when lightly roasted then tossed in garlic butter and black pepper and salt is beautiful! Can't eat gnocchi boiled though

Gonna have me a big fat bowl of pasta in butter and pepper cause I'm off work ill with morning sickness and pasta helps settle the horror!

StrawberryQuik · 28/09/2016 09:13

ConfusedConfusedConfused

I love pasta. Pasta + whatever is lurking in the fridge sauce = hundreds of different flavour combination.

Barilla pasta is rubbish though, not enough grooves for the sauce to cling to. Barilla pasta sauce is quite nice though when in a rush. My mamma's pasta secret - Asda smart price pasta, the more expensive pastas are too smooth/refined.

Ah, oops! Ha ha, I was so outraged by the clearly ridiculous suggestion that Pasta isn't delicious I forgot to proofread Wink

Off to mix up my carbs now with a bowl of mash and peas.

FYI - peas go v well with pasta ;-)

Nokidslovesitethough · 28/09/2016 11:10

YANBU OP, I also feel similarly about rice too.

SapphireStrange · 28/09/2016 11:18

Pasta sometimes doesn't fill me up all that much, but it's easy and quick and versatile. And it's a bit more filling if you use wholemeal or the wanky spelt/kamut type ones.

Cucumbers are pointless, IMO. Bags of water.

I'm hungrier after eating an apple than when I started. Negative nutritional benefits!

mrssnodge · 28/09/2016 11:24

I love most of the foods mentioned on here, and love red wine- or any wine at all- but my pure hatred is CUSTARD! in fact I really don't like most deserts but Custard really is the devils jizz!!!!!

Pasta is the most overrated food. Fo' sho. It's pleasantly carby I suppose but that's about it.

SapphireStrange · 28/09/2016 12:00

But it's meant to be bland, so you can add whatever flavours you want.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 28/09/2016 12:06

Can't be arsed with faffing around with rice, risotto's lovely though.

Pasta's perfect, you can toast it fist and then cook, some shapes at least.

user1474627704 · 28/09/2016 12:54

I don't understand how people don't wash their rice...how do you see the cooking rice through all that starch?

I do it in a rice cooker, where it comes out perfectly without bizarre rinising and bathing that some people seem to think is necessary.

Vintagegirl1 · 28/09/2016 12:55

YABU! I love pasta but limit it to once a week as I am fat as fuck already. Lasagna, carbonate, macaroni, puttanesca (my all time fave),aria bata, pesto, spa bol. Yum,yum, yum

Eolian · 28/09/2016 12:58

I love all the food mentioned on this thread! But then again, I can only think of about two foods I don't like. It must be a pain being a fussy eater.
Rice is great, especially basmati. I made a lovely chicken pilaf with Tilda basmati last night. Everyone wolfed it down. I don't normally bother washing the rice but I did this time and actually I think it came out better than usual.

MitzyLeFrouf · 28/09/2016 12:59

Jasmine rice is my favourite. So sticky.

NicknameUsed · 28/09/2016 12:59

"NicknameUsed try washing Tilda rice and letting it soak for 30 mins you'll have lovely long grains of rice, I know it's a lot of work but the result is amazing"

I will give it a go, but how much rice to water would I use and how long should I cook it for?

I usually do 2 parts water to 1 part rice for 15 minutes and it always comes out perfect.

Eolian · 28/09/2016 13:01

Oh and I love red wine. Used to be my favourite drink but I've developed an intolerance of it since having children .

3Eggses · 28/09/2016 13:14

I love pasta, potatoes and goats cheese! & falafel and kidney beans.

I agree with whoever mentioned avocado. Tasteless mush. They really are the most pointless food and I don't understand the obsession with putting them in everything! Fuck off out of my salad/sandwich/sushi.

WhatTheEff · 28/09/2016 13:15

I'm with you OP. I don't get the point of pasta, either.

furryminkymoo · 28/09/2016 13:16

I hate corned beef and celery. They are the evil of food.

Pasta is fab, my own bolognaise is loved by many, mostly me but its good. When we are not dieting I do lovely creamy chicken pasta dishes.

furryminkymoo · 28/09/2016 13:17

yup Avocado is shit. Horrible texture, loads of people cain it thinking that they are being healthy and its full of calories.

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 28/09/2016 13:24

furry. Avocado makes me cringe. Horrible.

Olives. Evil.

Anything with a 'skin' on it. I'd rather eat roasted tarantula.
