That's it I'm done, I've tried every shape going all different sauces and I have decided once and for all its crap. All it is is boiled dough and I'm done with it

Polenta is pointless. I've tried it many times, here and in Italy. It was once quite nice, I suspect because it was 50% butter and Parmesan. Every other time it's been like eating dense wallpaper paste.

Now mashed potato, that's food of the gods.

Eatthecake · 26/09/2016 17:43

I love pasta, my Italian DH can make some brilliant dishes-gorgeous food!

If your pasta is like boiled dough, Are you over cooking it??

Marrow, vile
Corn beef also vile
Goats cheese, Envy

Nogravyforyou · 26/09/2016 17:43

Yabu and I bet deep down inside you know you are!

Pasta is amazing. I would honestly eat pasta every day if I lived alone.

sonlypuppyfat · 26/09/2016 17:43

No goats cheese is a crime its rank. No I'm cooking my own sauces all my family are enjoying it but me I'm sat like a grumpy toddler pushing it around

ifyoulikepinacolada · 26/09/2016 17:44

Yab totally u. Now mushrooms, on the other hand...

MalbecAndLindt · 26/09/2016 17:44

Pasta is one of the best foods every created.

Pasta with pesto, sundried tomatoes, olives and goats cheese, with a glass of wine. Best. Meal. Ever.

LetsJunglyJumpToIt · 26/09/2016 17:45

I love goat's cheese. It does smell goaty though.

Marrow is disgusting as is coconut. Gnocchi is vile.

SecretNutellaFix · 26/09/2016 17:45

Are you cooking it properly?

I could live on pasta given a choice! Sadly my DH hates it, except for my lasagne and we only have that once a month at most so he doesn't get bored of it. I haven't had pasta for ages.

BaldHedgehog · 26/09/2016 17:48

OP, have you tried fresh egg pasta as opposed to dried one?

Budgiebonbon · 26/09/2016 17:48

YABVVVVU- Shock you take that back! Wink

Pasta is fabulous in all it's spaghetti slurping macaroni madness...............the perfect versatile comfort food. I would also have it for every meal if I could.

To the PP who has a Lasagna birthday cake, I applaud you and am now going to do the same next year.

mumwithovertime · 26/09/2016 17:48

Love pasta and goats cheese is heaven to me ............falafel ? what that's about , tastes absolutely disgusting !

Willow2016 · 26/09/2016 17:49

Can take it or leave it, dont get all the hype over pasta in tomato sauce though Hmm yeuk. Good ol mac and cheese, carbonara. lasagne etc with lashings of parmesan all fine.
Cauliflower is delish.
Kids not fussed over pasta either, must be the only ones in the world Smile
Corned beef fab (not whatever it is that americans call corned beef though wtaf is that?)
Potatoes in any shape or form delish.

sonlypuppyfat · 26/09/2016 17:52

Pasta and goats cheese, do you eat that for a dare Grin

ALemonyPea · 26/09/2016 17:54

Not liking pasta, rates right up there on my avoidometer with people who don't like chocolate. Adding you to my list.

Pasta and a fuckton of stinky blue cheese, preferably Roquefort. Yum!

MerylPeril · 26/09/2016 17:55

Pasta and goats cheese / yumsters!

Marrows should only exist for country shows big veg competitions

Cucumbers - nasty

Willow2016 · 26/09/2016 17:56

Forgot the red wine!

Why would you drink something that makes your mouth feel drier than when you started drinking? Have tried to like it in the past but just cant! (plus gives me instant headaches anyway)

tofutti · 26/09/2016 17:57

YABU.

Sophia Loren credited her amazing figure to spaghetti.

mumwithovertime · 26/09/2016 17:58

Over 30 years ago had goats cheese in France , love it and it brings back memories for me , we have soft goats cheese lightly grilled with a dressed salad and I LOVE it ! I love pasta too and would eat them together or separately !
Like corned beef too ! and marmite !

acornsandnuts · 26/09/2016 18:03

I'm with you OP.

Pointless, tried it in restaurants, at home, expensive, fresh. I just don't get it. At a push I can have spagetti carbonara and that's only because they're thin. A mouth full of chewy carb doesn't do it for me at all.

HandmaidsTail · 26/09/2016 18:07

Nope, the world's most pointless food is potato.

Who the hell picked one out of the ground and thought 'mmm this will become delicious by being boiled in WATER'.

If I never saw a potato again, I'd be happy.

And courgette spaghetti, or whatever the fuck it's called. Gave me a seriously dodgy stomach and I can't think about it now without heaving.

Champagneformyrealfriends · 26/09/2016 18:17

Come on now let's not get nasty-please don't start on the red wine.

I might just report you all as you're obviously just goady fuckers.

Grin
sonlypuppyfat · 26/09/2016 18:38

Red wine is super nasty all dry in your mouth

OP posts:
Sparklesilverglitter · 26/09/2016 18:40

I agree about red wine, it is the ONLY alcohol that gives me the most awful headache just a couple of hours after 1 glass

StealthPolarBear · 26/09/2016 18:51

I do get awful headaches the morning after a bottle or two of red wine so there might be something in that.
