...to ask what your "ideal" weight is?

If you're 5ft 5 or 5ft 6ins?

I'm 5ft 5.5 (the half is important to me!!) and have been losing weight since the birth of DC2 seven months ago, in a bid to get back to normal. Thing is, I can't decide where to stop.

I hit my goal weight recently but I don't feel like I'm "done." I still have excess fat on my tummy and legs, but don't know if I'm normal, a bit chubby or over critical.

So, what is your ideal weight if you're the same height as me? Where do you feel happiest?

FWIW, I'm average build, size 7 feet, big boobs, and pretty active.

10 st 4 but no less for me. I'm size 7 shoe too and pear shaped so I can carry weight and still look ok.

5'5 (measured myself the other day and I'm an inch shorter than I thought I was.) Currently weigh 10st and fit a size 12 comfortably. I'm aiming for 9st7lb at the moment. That was my weight when I got married a few years ago, I was size 10-12 and felt OK. I was happier at 9st, but wonder if that might be too thin now I'm a bit older. I'll reconsider when I get to 9st7.
I used to prefer to be much thinner, to the point that I felt quite ill, but I can't do that any more.

I'm 5ft 7 and ideally around 10st. Currently at 11.7 and feeling very chunky in places, specifically arms and tummy. I have large feet and am large framed with wide shoulders and protruding ribs and very small boobs so I always look out of proportion no matter what I wear or weigh. Could do without the tummy wobbles though. I have however lost 3stone since having DD 18 months ago so don't feel too bad.

5 ft 5, size 6 shoes. Ideal weight is 8.5 stone but I haven't hit it since I turned 30 and my current weight of (I think - haven't weighed myself for ages) nearly 9 stone is basically fine.

5'6" adult women (I'm assuming over say 25 years old) saying their ideal weight is 8 or 9 stone something? Really?

Why? NowThatsClosureJen I don't get what you're saying. Fuck it, here's a photo of me (unfortunately from the naff-er section of a photo shoot I had - apologies for that - but there's no photoshopping). Age 50, 5 ft 5 and probably 8 st 2 there. I think I just look normal - not fat, not thin, just normal (albeit a bit tarty admittedly, but hey ho - you're only middle aged once:) )

I don't get this statement either. Those weights are within the healthy BMI range, perhaps towards the lower end of it, so it stands to reason that that is most people's "ideal."
The vast majority of people on this thread say they are happy at a healthy BMI, which is surely a good thing. There's not much of a desire to be super-skinny going on.

FWIW, I'm currently 9st and will aim to lose another half stone or so, but if it doesn't happen I'm happy to stick around here. I'm an easy size 8 at 9st.

31 y/o, 5'5 1/2", 32E, 3 1/2 feet. Used to hover around the 9st mark, ballooned up to 11st thanks to contraceptive implant and antidepressants, now just below 10st. Goal weight is about 8st 12lbs. Lowest weight in recent years was 8st 9 at the start of 2013 when I was extremely stressed, and I did not look good.

It's all dependent on frame size. I have a large frame, so going as low as 9 stone I would look sickly (and I would have to be starving myself). However people with small frames would look seriously overweight or obese at my weight. It's all relative.

Wandering tiny feet! Implant is a bitch for the weight too, mine is also slowly coming off.

Agree it depends on frame size, which is why I find the idea of one ideal weight for a particular height kind of odd. I've never really thought in terms of "ideal weight" for me, anyway, as I'm big framed and fairly muscular. I'm currently 5'7'', around 11 stone, and think I look fine. The last time I was even around the middle of my "healthy" BMI range I was a very very skinny teenager with no boobs.

Amazing to see the differences here in height /weight / clothing and size.

When I'm 5'5 and 9.7 stone I'm an easy 10, sometimes a big 8.

Not just the frame size, amount or fat v muscle makes a big difference. I weigh about the same as I did 15 years ago, when I wasn't working out at all - but I'm about 2 sizes smaller now that I'm familiar with weights at the gym.

5 ft 5 here and ideal weight is 10 stone. Anything much under that and I look a bit gaunt. Mind you, I need to drop three quarters of a stone to reach my ideal. Gah!

5.5 and a half here too! Ideal 'fighting' weight is 9st 4lbs. Currently 10st 8lbs after 2 babies in 2 years but determined to be below 10st by Christmas (and will lose the rest after!).
FWIW I'm small framed and even at 9st am far from skinny. I don't know why anyone would think that an adult woman shouldn't be 8 or 9 stone!

Yup, I do weights as well and if I'm working out a lot it makes a huge difference to my shape but my weight stays more or less the same.

5'5.5 and weigh around 8st 10.

But I'm flabby and untoned and carry a lot of fat!

If rather weigh more and be more muscular tbh. My ideal weight is about 8st 3/4 but I never diet or anything like that.

5ft 6, large frame, size 7 feet, ideal is about 10 stone, was that weight last year and looked fab Grin, put on about a stone since then and trying to get it off again.

Was about 9 stone up until age 30ish and was always described as skinny, looking back looked v skinny under 9stone.

People have different builds and goals. I like the figures of Daisy Lowe and Jennifer Lawrence, slim but not skinny.

thecat looking fab Grin

I'm 5ft 6ins and at 10 stone I can eat what I want. I do have exercise though otherwise I'd be wobbly.

I would ideally be 9st 7ins but I'd have to watch what I eat and restrict which would make me sad. Anything lower would leave me with a gaunt face and which my lower body could take it, anything from the waist up would look horrible.

5.5 with very big boobs but an otherwise narrow frame. 8.5-9 stone is my ideal, or 10 stone if I've actually managed to get to the gym and build some muscle.

Years ago I had a breast reduction (damn things just came back bigger after a while), and that took me under 8 stone, so if it wasn't for the giant boobs that would be my ideal.

I am 5ft 7 and the only times I have been over 9 stone are when I have been pregnant. I have a medium build. I am fit, strong and have a high muscle mass. I am lean. 8.5 stone is my ideal and I am a bit below that at the moment.
I think people in general life, not on this thread really, have an overly high view of what healthy and ideal weights are.

I'm 5ft6 and my ideal is 9stone2. Anything over that and I feel fat. Anything under 9 stone and I look gaunt. I'm 9 stone 4 at the minute and feel a tad too heavy.
