...to ask what your "ideal" weight is?

If you're 5ft 5 or 5ft 6ins?

I'm 5ft 5.5 (the half is important to me!!) and have been losing weight since the birth of DC2 seven months ago, in a bid to get back to normal. Thing is, I can't decide where to stop.

I hit my goal weight recently but I don't feel like I'm "done." I still have excess fat on my tummy and legs, but don't know if I'm normal, a bit chubby or over critical.

So, what is your ideal weight if you're the same height as me? Where do you feel happiest?

FWIW, I'm average build, size 7 feet, big boobs, and pretty active.

I'm 5'5" with a large frame. I have huge shoulders and bust and size 8 feet. I currently weigh just over 10 stone. My ideal weight is about 9 stone 7lbs. Any less than that and I look ill, although as I haven't been that weight for years I might be misremembering!

I do have occssional attempts to get that low again, but my body seems to like being 10 stone. I do loads of exercise so am fairly well toned.

If I lose weight it only seems to go from my lower half and so I end up being top heavy. I was heavier earlier this year, and was a size 14 on top and a 12 bottom. I'm currently still a size 14 on top but am now an 8/10 bottom. I've never been a size 10 on top, even pre kids.

TotallyOuting · 26/09/2016 02:35

5'4 or 5'5 and I only really stop looking chubby at all at close to 9 stone. Ideal would probably be just under. I'm just under 10 right now, look fine as long as I don't have tight clothes on, but a little bit jowly depending on where I'm looking...

TotallyOuting · 26/09/2016 02:36

I should clarify really - I live in skinny jeans and look good in them. Just need to make sure the tummy isn't bulging through any tighter tops if the waistband on the jeans is a little tight. Confused

lizzieoak · 26/09/2016 02:45

I'm 5"4, small-boned. Ideal weight is about 9 stone. Scared to weight myself but think I'm about 9 stone 10.

parentsvsPIL · 26/09/2016 03:04

God, I feel like a whale.

Am 5 ft 4.

Pre-multiple-pregnancies and a broken foot, early last year, I weighed 8 st 2 lb. I was happily running about 50km a week up/down steep hills. Then I broke my foot, and had four first trimesters in a row with no break between (so was eating toast like a champion and too bloody tired and nauseated to move - or miscarrying - for approximately a year).

My foot has healed as much as it ever will, and I am 31 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby, so all's good and I don't mind, but I now weigh 11 st. Yes, I have put on 20 kgs in about 18 months. Baby shower photos from the weekend confirm that I look like a whale...

RonaldMcDonald · 26/09/2016 03:16

10st, I'm 5 10 ish in height
Today I am lumbering in at a happy enough 10 5
I stopped sweating the 1/2 stone here or there that I had gained and lost my whole adult life
Everything stabilised
So I go from 9/10 - look a bit shit to 10/10 look a bit more covered

SeasonalVag · 26/09/2016 04:47

You can't compare without knowing bone structure etc. I'm just under 10 stone but have a 28" waist, no boobs, flat stomach and am a size 8-10. I'm big boned. I'd look skeletal if I lost half a stone

UnderslungBowlingBall · 26/09/2016 06:29

At 5'7" I felt happiest at 12st. Currently 12st 7lb but I'm happy here too :D

WanderingTrolley1 · 26/09/2016 06:47

I'm 5'5. My ideal weight is between 9st 7lbs and 10st 7lbs.

Chickydoo · 26/09/2016 06:49

Just a smidge under 5'7' I weight 8 stone 7 ( have been this for years) my natural & comfy weight is probably 8'2' I haven't been there for a few years, so I will probably stay as is. I am small framed, but old

Didyoumeantobesorude1 · 26/09/2016 07:54

I'm 5'6" and currently 9st 6 but much prefer to be around 8st 10. Wide shoulders, average bust, but very slim wrists and ankles which I'm told means I have a small frame. At my current weight I have a bit of a tummy and my bum looks bigger than I like.

ralice · 26/09/2016 07:59

What huge variations between everyone! I'm 5'5" and feel best at around 7st 10lbs. Currently in the 8s now, not sure exactly as too scared to weigh myself. Pre-baby I was 8st 3lbs and did a lot of exercise, then dropped to 7st 7lbs while breastfeeding.

fishonabicycle · 26/09/2016 10:16

You are all so tall! Lucky!

user1471461436 · 26/09/2016 11:39

Lol arent they talk though? I am just about 5 foot. I am an adult I promise!

user1471461436 · 26/09/2016 11:40

I mean tall

HairsprayBabe · 26/09/2016 12:15

Another 5ft5 here, size 5 feet, big boobs, big bum.
Have been all weights from 8st2 to 15st3 and I liked myself best between 9 and 10 stone, along way from that these days but the numbers on the scales are still going down!

SuperFlyHigh · 26/09/2016 12:17

5 ft 4 and a half - currently 11 stone I think - would like to be 9 stone or 9 and a half stone.

was 7 stone, then 7 and a half etc and 8 and a half in 20s gradually crept on.

have already had boobs - was C cup easily at 14 but 28/30 back.

am 45.

MegEmski · 26/09/2016 12:32

crikey

I am 5'4, currently 10stone8 and don't think I look too bad, I am very active so I think some of the weight is muscle - if I ask someone what I weigh they tend to pick 9.5 - 10 stone

However I am happiest around 10stone, preferably just under

A lot more than some weights here! but I ride every day, sometimes two horses, walk the dogs, run or swim sometimes as well. I've never been below 9stone in years. don't know if I would want to be

picture is me at 10stone8 / 10stone9 currently.

...to ask what your "ideal" weight is?
gwenneh · 26/09/2016 12:35

About 8 stone. That's when I coast into the middle of "normal" territory. I'm short.

I haven't been that weight since I was a child.

murphys · 26/09/2016 12:43

I think that there is a difference between your clinical ideal weight and the weight that feels right for you.

I have to go in kilos (sorry I am in SA) and my ideal weight for bmi according to Dr is 54kg (so I think that is 8.5) . I am 48kg ( 7.55 according to calculator) and think that it right for me. With the extra kilos on, I feel tired, heavy and uncomfortable.

I don't diet, but did go from 54 - 48kg after cutting out wheat, that's all that changed from diet, exercise routine.

LivingOnTheDancefloor · 26/09/2016 12:43

5ft5
Weight varies between 7st 5 and 8st 5
I gained a lot of weight during a twin pregnancy (stopped counting after 4 st...) but lost even more afterwards, between BFing and running up and down the stairs all day long with two newborns in my arms. My stomach still looks like a bombsite though.

ChickenMe · 26/09/2016 12:46

5'4" and I'm unhappy if over 10.6. Stuff doesn't fit properly and I'll find I'm between sizes.
Currently 10.2. Happy with that as I was 14st after having my daughter but my goal is mid nines. After that I'd be too thin and if you're in your 40s it shows on your face.
I've got larger bones as my rib cage and shoulders are quite big. I've been in the low nines and looked Skeletor ish

Thefitfatty · 26/09/2016 12:47

5 ft 6 ish, currently about 11.8 stone, size 9 feet and my bra is 34-D.

I'm very happy with my weight right now, but I would like to get to a healthy BMI (which is 11 stone). I doubt I'll maintain it, I just want to see what it looks like, because frankly I don't feel like I'm overweight now.

Aoibhe · 26/09/2016 12:48

I'm 5 FT 3 and 9 stone 4, which I feel is too heavy for me. Half a stone has crept on over the past few months and just today I've stated a plan to lose it. I think when you're short, you just can't get away with extra pounds. My sister is a few inches taller than me but 12 stone something and it suits her. It's probably technically overweight for her height, but she can get away with that, I can't.

myfriendnigel · 26/09/2016 12:57

I'm 5.5 and half.9 stone would be my ideal weight.i struggle to get below 9.5 however and can only make that with a lot of effort. Currently 9.7...feel chubbier than I would like to be.
