...to ask what your "ideal" weight is?

If you're 5ft 5 or 5ft 6ins?

I'm 5ft 5.5 (the half is important to me!!) and have been losing weight since the birth of DC2 seven months ago, in a bid to get back to normal. Thing is, I can't decide where to stop.

I hit my goal weight recently but I don't feel like I'm "done." I still have excess fat on my tummy and legs, but don't know if I'm normal, a bit chubby or over critical.

So, what is your ideal weight if you're the same height as me? Where do you feel happiest?

FWIW, I'm average build, size 7 feet, big boobs, and pretty active.

Ideally, about 9 and a half stone. That said, I dropped to 9 stone after my marriage split and a few people said I looked too thin or gaunt, so who knows! I'm currently about 11 stone, although I was probably over 11 and a half stone after my holiday to Greece in July. I've put on good bit of weight, after a few years on Citalopram and not being as active as I would like, due to CFS.

KatharinaRosalie · 25/09/2016 21:10

5'6 and about 10 stone is my ideal. I'm almost 11 stone at the moment and comfortably a size 10, but wouldn't mind 8/10.

I have a large frame and work out a lot, so under 10 st I would have bones sticking out everywhere, and a skinny cow is not a gazelle.

WhatwouldRuthdo · 25/09/2016 21:17

5'5 here and my ideal is about 8 .10 in weight. Around 8 and a half stone I look too thin. Over 9 and my clothes are uncomfortable. I'm small framed though.

dillyduck · 25/09/2016 21:19

5 ft 7 with big hips and quite big boobs. Best at about 10 stone 2. Look ill at anything under 9st 7.

wayway13 · 25/09/2016 21:19

5'5" here. 9st 10lbs is my ideal. Any lighter and my face looks gaunt and my collarbones protude too much. I carry weight on my legs so anything over 10st I feel self conscious. I finally got back to target after DD then got pg again so feeling hefty again at the moment.

My friend is an inch taller than me and 11st10lbs. She looks fab as she carries it evenly. It all depends on body composition.

HappyAxolotl · 25/09/2016 21:24

I'm 5ft 4 and I look best at around 9st 7. I have quite prominent bones and once I go under about 9st4 I start looking scary. Over 9st 10 and I look and feel fat. However I've been working out a lot lately and I am up to 10st 5 and haven't got any bigger than usual. Just firmer.

Polarbearflavour · 25/09/2016 21:27

5'7, just under 10 stone 13 and a size 10-12.

mamadoc · 25/09/2016 23:17

5,6 ideal around 9 stone. Up to 9 and a half looks fine. If it's heading towards 10 I take action.
Medium build, curvy shape DD boobs, flat stomach, weight goes on my hips and thighs first.
I aspire to do more exercise but in reality don't do anything beyond a bit of walking. I don't have a sedentary job though.

Pippioddstocking · 25/09/2016 23:35

It's amazing what different weights work for everyone .
I'm a bit taller at 5 ft 9. My current weight it 9.4 but I think I look best at 9.
I run 5 days a week , swim, cross train and lift weights at the gym , small boned , size 6 feet. Size 10.
If I put on weight it all goes to my stomach . Any more than 9.7 and I get a pot belly.

OriginalBlonde · 25/09/2016 23:41

5'7" and currently 10st, ideally I'd like to hover around the 9st 5 mark, I carry most weight on my thighs, I've got DD boobs, size 6 feet

5OBalesofHay · 25/09/2016 23:43

I'm 5'11. Size8 shoes. Currently weighs 9 stones 8 but look and feel better at 10 stones.

BzyB · 25/09/2016 23:43

I looked good at 11.5 st. I dropped to just under 11 and I just didn't look right and had a few ( well meaning) comments over my health. At that time it was the heaviest I had ever been.

I was 10st 2 before any kids and liked how I looked then ( maybe just a little toning required!) but it just wouldn't suit me now.

I'm hugely overweight atm but once this baby is out, 12 is my main goal then I'll tweak it downwards til I feel it looks right.

NowThatsClosureJen · 25/09/2016 23:50

5'6" adult women (I'm assuming over say 25 years old) saying their ideal weight is 8 or 9 stone something? Really? 🤔

Cellardoor23 · 25/09/2016 23:58

I'm 5'4 and my ideal weight for me is between 10-11 stone. I'm not that at the moment! (Working on it) At my slimmest I was 9 stone, when I had a really bad case of tonsillitis. I looked awful.

I think it just depends on muscle mass and bone structure.

Stylingwax · 26/09/2016 00:13

5'6.5 😄
Through all of my twenties I was 8.5 never shifted. Super fit. Then hit 30 and 2 kids later 10 stone. Down to 9.5 now, be nice to get nearer 9 but think 8.5 would look emaciated!

19lottie82 · 26/09/2016 00:31

Wow at these heights / weights......... I am about 14.5 just now and 5'9"

2 years ago i was 12.5 and looked perfectly healthy, although bmi says I was 0.5 overweight.

Previously I was about 9.10 but have to say, I looked to thin!

Looking back on previous bikini photos, @ 11.5 I looked amazing!

allsfairinlove · 26/09/2016 00:32

Helena gosh, please go and see your GP! For peace of mind if nothing else. Promise you will, please?

19lottie82 · 26/09/2016 00:32

pippi @ 5'9" and 9 stone are you not considers underweight?

Singingholly16 · 26/09/2016 00:42

I'm 5' 5.5" (and yes the .5 definitely matters!) and quite a small frame I guess. I'm currently 8st 5lb, but feel happiest at 8st 3lbs and under.
Whenever I hit 8st 7lbs it's time to diet and I feel a bit chubby (plus the weight seems to go onto my face/jowls)

NewBallsPlease00 · 26/09/2016 00:45

5'5 and 9st here
Feel
Similar to you/ and just posted on skin appearance which o wasn't bargaining on having lost the 3.5st baby weight
I'd like to be 8st9

oldlaundbooth · 26/09/2016 00:48

I'm 5'5 and my ideal weight is 9 stone 7.

Probably could be a bit lower (9.4 maybe) but that works for me.

Alisvolatpropiis · 26/09/2016 00:52

Haven't read the thread.

My ideal weight at 5'6 is 8st 10lbs.

More realistically it's 9st 4lbs.

IfNotNowThenWhenever · 26/09/2016 00:52

These threads are really fucking unhealthy.
Who gives a shit how much you weigh?
Everyone should try and make sure they maintain a waist (diabetes prevention) and excercise to keep their heart healthy. And dont smoke and drink too much. That's it really.
I'm 5 6. I have no clue how much I weigh and I don't care. I'm not a leg of lamb.

8DaysAWeek · 26/09/2016 00:57

Same height as OP and ideal weight is 9 stone. I've been lighter (through stress) and looked ill.

I'm 8 weeks post first baby though and only a few pounds heavier than pre- pregnancy but almost 2 sizes bigger thanks to expanding hips and ribs so I've come to realise weight isn't the be all and end all of feeling good :/

Really hope these hips shrink back down...

Omgkitties · 26/09/2016 02:14

I used to weigh 15st a year ago, now I weight 9st3lbs. I'm 21, 5ft4 and a size 8 and being under 10st means I can still go on trampolines haha so I'd say I'm pretty happy with this weight even though it's a few pounds more than my goal a year ago was.
