Changing rooms...

HeirOfNothingInParticular · 24/09/2016 18:33

My daughters best friend works in a high street store which sells mainly lingerie. A man came in and proceeded to tell her that he was a straight man but wore women's underwear. He then asked to try various items in the changing room. They only have women's changing rooms. Daughter's friend felt uncomfortable but checked with manager and they said go ahead, although they weren't that happy about it. He went off to try items, left without buying anything. When I was discussing it was the friend earlier, she said that she felt conflicted as her instinct was to not discriminate as she has friends who are gay, lesbian, non binary etc, etc, but felt that this man had another agenda... I'm inclined to agree with her.

No it's not that they don't need them, it's just one is trying on for cup size. Just that someone said, what's the big deal, he wanted to try on some clothes before he bought them. So a dress, yes (but get in the male changing rooms!) but a bra? you can't try them for size if you're a man. You're trying them on your breasts. So why would he need to try it on and how could he even try it on for fir? I don't get it.

Coldilox it was you said oh he just needed tp try them on. But he didn't have anything to try them on? He'd just buy the right chest (like 42 or something) and then stuff them up surely.

He just needed to say he identified as a woman and she would have have to let him in. to have a wank in the changing room and possibly do some secret filming

He could easily have bought on-line, so in my mind, was getting a kick out of the whole thing. Embarrassing the DD's friend being part of it.

I've had this, a man deliberately asking you a potentially embarrassing question (in my case, directions) and wanking at the same time (at the wheel of his car).

How do we know it was a bra?

If it's Anne Summers then it could to be a corset and a guy with a corset fetish.

Report
WinchesterWoman · 24/09/2016 19:49

still if it's a corset fetish it's not just an innocent thing is it

Jasonandyawegunorts · 24/09/2016 19:53

I've not said it's innocent?

I wonder why the OP didn't name the store when asked?

Her boss said it was ok, so it was. Nothing happened.

What do you want from this thread?

Maybe he wanted to see what it looked like? That's why I try stuff on, as well as to see the fit.

And it may not have been bras.

I just don't see why so many assume he was being a pervert. Yes he could have bought online, but maybe he doesn't like buying clothes online? I don't. I like to try stuff on. To see what it looks like!

I have a feeling of deja vu about this. Where is the Urban Outfitters thread?

Becuase it's very hard to find a shop with no male changing area.

I just don't see why so many assume he was being a pervert.

So why did he mention he's straight? The fuck does a woman working in a shop need to know that for? It's non of her business. People sometimes think I'm gay, daring to be a non feminine woman and all, I don't correct anyone. Saying he's straight when there's no fucking need says "I might be wanking into these wearing underwear aimed at the females, but I am totally available to fuck you."

Don't know how to do a link. Here's the thread title

AIBU: to think Urban Outfitters were right?

coldilox you really think a bloke wanting to see what women's underwear looks like on himself is for innocent reasons of fit and whether he'll get a smooth line?

He's an absolute kinky fucker and imposing in women only space and making the young assistant feel uncomfortable is part of what he gets off on.

And I guarantee he had a wank in the changing room

WinchesterWoman · 24/09/2016 20:11

yes like the smarmy boss who just mentioned in conversation that he had an open marriage [leer] after about two days
it's just not necessary

I don't think the guy in question was innocent at all...

If the shop sells only womens underwear no way should they have let a man into the changing room.

I worked in a lingerie shop with a men's section through uni. A similar situation happened, but he took both men's and women's options into the changing room. He was in there for ages and eventually had to be asked to leave. When the manager went to check, he'd left his mark Sad

I was thinking he probably had a wank

HermioneWeasley - that'what I think. This is young woman has strong ideas about equality, but is confused about what happened. Should equality and acceptance mean that people can get their kicks and and sexual gratification by making minimum wage shop workers uncomfortable?

Of course not heir - equality is nothing to do with imposing yourself sexually on someone else. You don't have to touch someone to violate their boundaries.

Huh? Sorry, dim moment but I don't know what you mean? Blush

If the OP names the shop, then the people can Tweet their concerns.
