Place marking!

yumscrumfatbum · 16/09/2016 13:05

Not really woo but made me feel magic! When we moved into our current home a neighbour was already an acquaintance (had DC's in same year at school). I wasn't keen on her or her DD. She came over to ask if we wanted to go to the park with them. I made an excuse saying sorry my MIL is coming to see us. With that MIL pulled up outside the house! Bloody brilliant!

Oops! CP! Blush Grin

Hoppinggreen · 16/09/2016 13:07

When I was at Uni I had a lecture at 2 pm.
I left my room early at 1.30 to walk there, it was only a 10 minute walk.
I walked straight there, didn't stop or anything but when I arrived there was nobody waiting outside. I didn't have a watch on so I just waited for a while but nobody came. I was about to leave when I notice sounds coming from inside the room so I opened the door a bit and the lecture had already started. I was a bit confused but I went in, sat down and it ended. It was due to last an hour. The clock in the lecture theatre said 3pm.
I assumed the clock in my room must have been wrong but when I got home and checked it wasn't.
Basically I somehow " lost" an hour and a half during a 10 minute walk.

Just remembered another one that happened to my DH.

He used to share a flat with a friend and in the wall which separated the living room and hallway there was a panel of decorative glass blocks. So my DH is standing talking to his flatmate who was leaning against the door frame with his back to the hallway and suddenly my DH stops talking and goes pale. When his flat mate asked what was wrong my DH explained that he had just seen a figure walk past the glass blocks in the hallway. There was nobody else in the flat.

Wow, PageSNF. Shock That's chilling.

Magicpaintbrush · 16/09/2016 13:15

Oh my God - PageStillNotFound404!! That sounds absolutely terrifying. A bit of wee came out whilst reading that. Proper scary!

WannaBe · 16/09/2016 13:19

PageStillNotFound404 Shock Shock Shock I have just had a physical reaction to that post.

I have heard that if you command a spirit to go in the name of Jesus Christ then they have to obey. My DP is a Christian and he has had experiences where he has walked into a room and felt a very distinct heavy presence where he has done exactly that and the presence has lifted. Bloody terrifying though.

CalmYaTits · 16/09/2016 13:22

I ate marmite and Ice cream and enjoyed it. That was pretty weird.

QueenSpartacusOfTheAndals · 16/09/2016 13:24

Fucking hell Page, it's broad daylight and now I'm terrified and under the duvet!

Purplebluebird · 16/09/2016 13:26

Not woo, but it's very creepy to me. I was 21 and had just moved to London. Was walking from home to the train station ( 10 mins) and had a man, looked to be in his 40s, literally chase me down the street asking for a date. He asked again and again, and wouldn't take no for an answer. I managed to escape into the train station, only for him to appear on the platform a few minutes later! Hmm wtaf!!!

PageStillNotFound404 · 16/09/2016 13:31

I re-read it before I reposted it and gave myself goosebumps all over again!

liz70 · 16/09/2016 13:32

Equally, as a spiritualist (small "s") my understanding is that invoking any source of light/goodness is effective. It just happens to be Jesus or Christ to many of us because that's our culture. To other people those names would mean little or nothing.

mycatwantstokillme1 · 16/09/2016 13:33

Notnob I hope the poster tells her tale of the young boy at the disco in Essex. Chilling, genuinely scary.

Can you remember what it was? I'm intrigued!

I've never had an experience like these and I'm bloody glad, some of these have freaked me out and it's only lunchtime!

CalmItKermitt · 16/09/2016 13:33

Page!!! 😦😦😦

Did you tell your friend about it? Do any research into possible devil worshippers in the area etc?

I'm glad I didn't read that at night!

GlitteryFluff · 16/09/2016 13:34

Page! Shock!

WannaBe · 16/09/2016 13:34

I think I'd probably do whatever sprang to mind at the time. Grin be that Jesus or the light or whatever....

angemorange · 16/09/2016 13:36

Page - terrifying!! Don't know how you got through that night Grin

QueenSpartacusOfTheAndals · 16/09/2016 13:36

IIRC, what it was was that a poster said she used to see a young man, by himself, at a nightclub very often in her youth. About 20 years later she went back to that nightclub and he was still there, but he hadn't aged a day and was staring at her so malevolently that she immediately left!

QueenSpartacusOfTheAndals · 16/09/2016 13:36

(That was in response to mycat)

hollie11 · 16/09/2016 13:36

My grandad (mums dad) died when I was a baby. My sister was 3/4 years old. A few weeks after he passed my mum heard my sister talking in her room (she was alone in her room playing) so went up to check on her and asked "who are you talking to?" my sister said grandad, when my mum went to pick her up she smelled cigar smoke. My mum didn't smoke, no-one who lived in the house smoked and my deceased grandad smoked cigars. Freaky

TiverMeShimbers · 16/09/2016 13:39

I was a bit spooked by this exchange with my DS when he was aged 2.5. I had put on the radio and there was some rap music on it.

DS "That's Dr Dre!"
Me "Err....yes...it is. How do you know Dr Dre?"
DS "I've seen him once. In London"

We rarely play any rap music in the house and live nowhere near London. Absolutely no idea how he would have come out with that chat! I was a bit spooked and really interested in his previous life in London, but sadly he hasn't followed it up with any other details.

SparklyGlitterPants · 16/09/2016 13:40

Oooo place marking will add mine later if I get a chance.

liz70 · 16/09/2016 13:43

"I think I'd probably do whatever sprang to mind at the time. be that Jesus..."

My point exactly. To those raised in a Christian culture, be they religious or not, the first words when terrified tend to be things like "Jesus!" "Christ!" or both, or similar. Perhaps "Holy Mary Mother of God!" if Catholic. Wink
