To hate the new IPhone update so much...

That I'm actually considering selling my phone 😂

Hate it. There is literally nothing good about it.

The notifications look like something you'd get 10 years ago.
The emojis are just... wrong.
The way it's unlocked now just messes with me and now I just keep swiping to the news instead.

I bloody hate it!!

I love that I can now send balloons or fireworks etc on the screen as a message so when the recipient opens their imessage they get an explosion of balloons or fireworks!

Little - go to settings and General. Software update is at the top.

I don't think it's available for any phone before the iphone 5 though.

I was always advised by someone who knows about iphones to never upload any updates with round numbers.
So 10 is a no no - 10.1 is OK!
I listen to this advice and follow it.
Worth knowing????
I've heard a lot of bad things about this one so glad I haven't done it yet.
I shall wait for them to fix everything upload 10.1

Never heard anything like that! I've beta tested the last couple and even the betas weren't especially problematic. I've had zero problems in 9 years.

Loads of people say that, but in my experience the .1 update is generally within a few days and I can handle the extremely few issues that never have any impact on me anyway!

Can you still use the pin no to unlock? I use fingerprint myself but the DCs use the number.

I downloaded it my ipad last night. Ive switched off the hold to unluck thing and only played about with imessage but i like it so far.

Ok, I'm going to put this in bold because I didn't know this.... If you send a picture or fireworks etc it sends as an MMS if you are sending to another iPhone via iMessage then thats free and all good, if you are sending to any other device YOU MIGHT BE CHARGED!

I sent one to DH who has a OnePlus 2 phone and Three charge 40p per message. I suspect there will be a few people who end up paying for it.

Good point Percy, yes, only send them to other iPhones using iMessage. I find that a lovingly hand drawn picture of a cup of tea produces great results from DH Grin

sisters I thought that was also the case for emoji icons too. That they got sent as an mms, not text (if to a non-Apple user) and therefore charged.

I have been holding off the update. It's so annoying when the phone says that if you leave on charge between 2am and 6am it will automatically do the update!!

Probably the easiest way to be certain you aren't going to be charged is to go:

settings> Messages > MMS and turn the MMS button to off (so it's not showing green)

This way you physically can't send a charged for MMS message.

I've just installed and really like the notifications, deleting apps, improved maps and the drawing app! But like has been said, I said one to DP but his imessage appeared to be off so think it's gone as MMS Confused This is why we use whatsapp! I've changed the setting for the lock screen as I like swiping Grin

Oops just realised swiping is totally gone, think I'll just use touch ID rather than press home to unlock.
I love how fast apps open and close now.

I must be a sad old geek as the feature I like best is the option to use the camera as a magnifier. Love the way you can invert the colours as it makes reading labels on food items much easier where it's say black text on a purple background
