Hate it. There is literally nothing good about it.

The notifications look like something you'd get 10 years ago.
The emojis are just... wrong.
The way it's unlocked now just messes with me and now I just keep swiping to the news instead.

I bloody hate it!!

I must be a sad old geek as the feature I like best is the option to use the camera as a magnifier. Love the way you can invert the colours as it makes reading labels on food items much easier where it's say black text on a purple background

I've had a magnifying app for a while, really useful.

Is it possible to get back the "slide to unlock" without jail breaking? I've got the 5c.

Also, what's this about balloons and fireworks in iMessage? I can't see those.

No Margay they've removed it completely as when you swipe now it brings up a notifications bar instead... i wanted it back too! I searched online but yeah the only way to do it is jailbreaking or some longwinded way by entering code when it's plugged into a laptop.

I usually wait until the .1 version. It saved me a few times, ESP when device is a few years old as each new release makes it run slower so by holding off and reading others experiences I can avoid slowing my device right down and then install the improved .1 when it comes out.

I found the balloons and fireworks etc - it turns out the option for them won't come up if you've got Reduce Motion on.

Not impressed with the health app. Everything has changed, I liked being able to see my steps and distance covered.

I will balance that against being able to delete the other things.

Does anyone know how to swipe away notifications while using another app?

I don't know if I'm making any sense but for example, if I'm watching Netflix on my phone and a message comes through I used to be able to swipe up on the banner notification to make it go away but now I have to wait a few seconds for it to disappear itself? Ahh it's getting in the way!

I'm sure I can just swipe up and they go

There does seem to be a lot changed this time. I am finding it more annoying on iPad than phone - probably because of the unlock thing.

But on a plus side we finally have a female running picture which is a bonus!

Totally agree. Hate that the music bit now is on. Seperate control panel thingy. It does look very old and the widgets are really annoying.

And what's with the stupid drawing things in messages. Pointless.

The only reason I knew about it was because if the emails from work telling us not to update our iPods or we'd loose our nervcentre.

JFSB - you need to go to settings and notifications and change the banner. My messages used to appear in the middle of my screen and now I get that crap banner at the top of my screen. You can either have it appear and disappear or have it appear and stay and need swiping.

Yep it's crap. Working in IT I know less 'keystrokes' = good more = bad. Plenty more crap in this update when you drill down too. Not just MN, loads of other forums covering this. They'll wait til we've got used to it, then change it!

The hard press to get rid of the notification works, hurrah! Apart from that the update seems ok for me, a lot of features I won't use but I was so glad to get rid of pointless apps.

Stocks is finally gone, the bastard!

I have never had an iphone till I 'inherited' DS's old one a few weeks ago, so am not used to all the features peeps have discussed here - so far has been an improvement on my Samsung.
But the stocks drive me nuts - haven't got around to asking 16 yo DS yet why he is interested in the stock market so assume it was a default put in to make 20 something males think they were Gordon Gecko?
Like a PP, as an old IT gimmer I never take upgrades with a '0' version number...

Oh, I like the stocks!

I'm not sure if anyone has posted about WiFi assist yet but if you leave it switched on it will use up data to make any weak WiFi signal work better - great for quicker usage but it's going to cost if you go over your data. It's in settings > mobile data and it's right at the bottom.

I don't mind the update so far but it's been about 5 minutes.

I hate the notifications and the cheesy dated bubbles they use.

Get an iphone 4. No more updates ever. Tbh it'd be more useful if I used it as a brick
