Aibu to not iron bed sheets

We have a superking bed. For the past hour and a half I have been standing ironing sheets to put on the bed. I have only managed the flat sheet and pillow cases. I have the bloody duvet cover and fitted sheet to go! Aibu to fling it all on in its creased form!?

Who irons anything generally?! If DH has an interview/wedding/funeral then we'll do him a shirt, and I've got one work (officey) blouse that has to be, but nothing else. Bedding would be bottom of my list. With towels and pants!

Tryingtobegood10 · 06/09/2016 23:26

I don't iron! I should really as i'v got a girl that likes to wear pretty dressers but I tend to tumble dry a lot if her stuff or purposefully buy stuff that doesn't crease! I'v also become a right bad hand and USING MY HAIR STRAIGHTENERS!!!!!" Instead of a iron!!! Pmsl no faffing about getting it all out just a few sweeps each side!! ALSO.... I "ironed" on all her name tags with my straighteners on hrs new uniform! Took no time at all!

Your welcome ;) lol

"Yesterday 22:49 ThoraGruntwhistle

I know a couple of people who iron literally everything. Everything gets washed, then it gets ironed. Socks, bed sheets, bras, manky old dishcloths... confused

Utterly baffling.

I do school uniforms and the rest can fuck off."

I love you Thora

SarkySara · 07/09/2016 20:49

Do you tumble dry your bed clothes? I always hang mine up neatly to dry then it is not creased at all. I wouldn't bother iron it even if it was though to be honest!

helenatroy · 07/09/2016 20:52

Am sad but I do. And I iron tea towels.

arranged · 07/09/2016 21:16

Take it to an ironing service

Ethylred · 07/09/2016 21:24

If you give up having the sheets ironed the next thing will be that the staff stop washing the small change in your purse.

The skies will fall.

AnotherGreenDot · 07/09/2016 21:27

No need to iron! The creases will disappear when you make the need.
Also, why do you have a duvet cover AND a flat sheet AND a fitted sheet? You only need one sheet surely? Stop making work for yourself! Brew

raviolidreaming · 07/09/2016 21:36

I would iron bedsheets if I found myself with absolutely nothing else to do and couldn't think of anything else to do and was bored of staring at the wall

I wouldn't do it even then!

TheFairyCaravan · 07/09/2016 21:49

I iron bed linen. A superking duvet cover takes me about 10 minutes. I hate having creased bedding on the bed.

I iron practically everything. I like doing it.

theconstantinoplegardener · 07/09/2016 23:23

I know somebody who used to iron the baby's muslins Hmm

I iron hama beads and that's it.

theconstantinoplegardener · 07/09/2016 23:25

Having said that, I do quite like ironing (whilst watching TV) & aspire to be the sort of person who wears ironed clothes. But not bed sheets.

Storminateapot · 07/09/2016 23:34

I rarely iron. There is the odd shirt that always needs it (and sits waiting for weeks for me to be arsed to do it). I either tumble things or give them a damn good shake out before hanging up to dry. Then fold carefully & put away. It really makes little difference. I don't think I have ever ironed bedding. If it's the kind of fabric that won't wash & dry smoothly then I don't buy it.

Lower your standards and enjoy the extra time you'll have to yourself!

GameofPhones · 07/09/2016 23:43

I put mine in the airing cupboard and it has the same effect as ironing. But I wouldn't mind if it didn't. Ironing bedding is a tragic waste of time and effort.
