Welcome to 14.....

We got spooky 13 out the way. Now business as usual.

Don't worry about making sense, we rarely do!!

A poem from Portia

Mother Nature don't build straight lines
We're broken moulds in a grand design
We look a mess but we're doing fine
We're card carrying lifelong members
Of the Union of different kinds

Crack on and enjoy!!

Sad that's so sad. Flowers for missing person and their family. Also Flowers to the RNLI volunteers who worked so hard and have had to stop searching. It must be heart breaking for them too.

peachmama · 07/09/2016 05:17

Good luck today with little one Jess.

Hoping today goes well for you and your little one too being.

Hope the school run is less rage inducing vanilla and DS gets on ok at school.

Very sad news Portia Sad.

So there will be a Great wall of Calais.....is a giant brick wall really the best answer we can come up with?. Seems somewhat......retro. Anyway.....

Very Happy Wednesday everyone. 04:30am start again here - getting quite used to it now. Who knew re-runs of Location, Location, Location were on so early.

Have a great day one and all.

carbcraver · 07/09/2016 06:23

Oh so tired! How is it only Wednesday?!? 😫😫😫

Bettercallsaul1 · 07/09/2016 06:45

Heavens, everyone's up so early! (At least it's still light at the moment...)
Jess Good luck with your little boy's first day at school! (Hope you got all those name tapes sewn on. Grin)
Being Hope all goes well with your little girl's first day at nursery!

A big day for you both!

Bettercallsaul1 · 07/09/2016 06:50

Vanilla Hope things go a bit better at the school gates today and that yesterday was just unusually awful as the first day back. It's horrible to dread something that you have to do every day as part of your normal routine. Flowers

Bettercallsaul1 · 07/09/2016 06:52

peach Glad that your acclimatising to peachbaby's new routine...!

Bettercallsaul1 · 07/09/2016 06:54

Portia More terrible news at sea. Is this summer much worse than usual, do you think? It seems like there's a tragedy every week at the moment.

Bettercallsaul1 · 07/09/2016 06:57

At least, we're half way through the week! (glass half-full...!)

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 07/09/2016 06:58

Thank you Better

carbcraver · 07/09/2016 07:00

Everyone thought it was Wednesday yesterday. Considering I only work mon-wed I was bitterly disappointed to wake up and realise today is actually Wednesday.

Good luck in all your morning endeavours!!

How sad portia. This is why I'm scared of water

Poor Tom Hiddlestone. Taylor Swift has dumped him.. So now he has destroyed his career and still.doesn't have a girlfriend.

VanillaSugar · 07/09/2016 07:10

I need to get up. Is it the weekend yet?

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 07/09/2016 07:26

better. Of course they're scribbled sewn on! Have not had much sleep, just looked in mirror and I look slightly crazy.

Plus of course we're out of milk this morning and DS refuses to eat anything other than his beloved bloody Weetabix for breakfast.

Have given him a Kit Kat. Half past seven, we're already off to a bad start, and I have to do this for how many years?!

MyDressIsInferiorBlue · 07/09/2016 07:36

I need to get out of bed (should have been up 45mins ago) but soo tired. I'm still trying to wake up properly.

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 07/09/2016 07:43

Encouraging text from my twelve year old niece:

"Good luck to DS's name today! I hope he enjoys it! And hopefully they won't have to call you to collect him because he starts getting angry"

Oh god. Plus am being hassled on FB for pictures....

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 07/09/2016 08:05

Thoughts are now veering wildly between phoning in sick on his first day, and the possibility of home-schooling.

Am about to attempt to get his uniform on. This is where the odds of everything going completely tots up go though the roof...

Will report back. "I predict a riot", etc....

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 07/09/2016 08:06

Tots? Tits! Oh bugger....

Bettercallsaul1 · 07/09/2016 08:42

Grin Grin

Bettercallsaul1 · 07/09/2016 08:43

I love the way you can turn this into comedy as it's actually happening! A rare gift!

VanillaSugar · 07/09/2016 09:04

How did it go Jess?

I had a better drop off today. No one cut me up in the car park, the PE teacher actually deigned to speak to me (in my naice car) and I got a wave from a school WAG who you will actually have heard of.

But now I'm doing the ironing and have a load of b&&^^@cks to sort ok today.

Bettercallsaul1 · 07/09/2016 09:15

Oh, much better today then, Vanilla! Although I don't blame you for remaining cynical...!

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 07/09/2016 09:27

We made it on time. Somehow. But yes, I now understand about the MumZillas. There were two (immaculately dressed, make up etc) shouting very loudly at their DS's to 'gather', while making sure their Cath Kidston backpacks were in view.

I thought I'd picked the 'rough' school?!

I don't like it. I don't like it at all....
