A' AGL - happy?

More nonsense and utter bollocks, plus heart-warming moments of honesty, acceptance and kindness.

For cakes, dogs, cats, life-savers, unplanned pregnancies, homes, dresses and shoes, and of course, Mr Turner /Castis.

Crack on.

Aw thank you cc - you can do it!. Doing the c25k is a great thing to do. I do bootcamp sessions a few times a week - they hurt but I love them and it definitely helps a lot.

Wow Helena - 10stone!. That's an incredible weight loss. Did you put on 10 stone in pregnancy? (if that isn't too nosy?).

I think I put on 4 stone overall (stopped weighing myself at the end - couldn't face it!). So a stone to go. I am looking at party frocks to motivate myself!.

carbcraver · 05/09/2016 19:43

Thanks helena good camera work!!!

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 05/09/2016 19:45

vanilla. I often feel a bit sleepy and/or nauseous after eating sugar and carbs....

But am also a cake fan. And trifle, pavlova, cheesecake, chocolate mousse Blush

I dont have DC. It was a combination of comfort eating and not being able to afford to eat healthily back in the 90s.

Gallstones is excritiatingly painful. Its all over the torso.........back stomach and shoulders. The only thing that stopped the pain was morphine. It was due to losing weight too fast. The first 7 stone came off in 7 months. i was in a living hell for 10 months before they operated to take my gall bladder out I couldnt even eat solid food without setting it off.

peachmama · 05/09/2016 19:54

That really is a remarkable loss!.

I never knew gallstones were from losing weight too quickly. Sounds horrendously painful. A friend of mine had it and said it was the worst pain she had ever experienced - and she is a woman of little drama (Tesco shopping while in labour!).

HelenaDove · 05/09/2016 19:57

I had no idea either.

i havent had kids but people who have experienced both childbirth and gallstones told me the latter was way worse.

VanillaSugar · 05/09/2016 20:10

Ouch! !! This is why I don't diet even though I should

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 05/09/2016 20:11

I think with childbirth, at least there's a time-scale for labour (even if it does feel like forever - mine was 32 hours) - whereas my mum's friend who had gallstones had to wait about three months for the operation and was in agony. Also, interestingly, weight loss related (she went from a 22 to a 12).

Oh god, poor DH sent me a text over an hour ago to say that there were trespassers on the line. Now he's sent another saying a car has hit a bridge so he's going to be even later! The train journey is only supposed to take 45 mins.

HelenaDove · 05/09/2016 20:15

YY Jess I went from a 28 down to a 12/14.

I dont think the risks regarding the link are publisized enough. Slimming clubs push encourage and reward fast weight loss. I think they need to take more responsibility and warn ppl of the risk, But that might mean making less money.

VanillaSugar · 05/09/2016 20:22

ETA is 9.15pm. And off again at 6.45am. Working in London is a bit shit isn't it?

HelenaDove · 05/09/2016 20:24

Bloody hell Vanilla he will barely be home before he has to be off out again.

peachmama · 05/09/2016 20:27

Oh that is crap vanilla. It does have its drawbacks for sure. Fingers crossed he has smooth travel the rest of the week.

AverageGayLad · 05/09/2016 20:34

I don't trust Slimming World, I use MyFitnessPal :)

VanillaSugar · 05/09/2016 20:36

Thanks! Yup, home 9.15, bed at 10pm and up again at 6. Thanks, Virgin Trains. Although TBF it isn't quite their fault but the trains do seem to be delayed a lot.

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 05/09/2016 20:37

Helena. You're awesome.

AGL. I use MyFitnessPal, but I have been known to lie to it. Quite regularly.

carbcraver · 05/09/2016 20:38

I have tried slimming world, but never seem to follow it enough for results. I am such a foody!! LOVES my food!! So I'm using MFP to track my food, watching my macros, and this c25k malarkey! Plus the gym when I can for weight training.

I love my food far too much for the weight to 'drop off' 😩🙈

HelenaDove · 05/09/2016 20:42

Aw thanks Jess. As are you.

YY Carb.
I think MN needs a [ choc yule log ] smiley/emoticon this Christmas. Smile

AnnieOnnieMouse · 05/09/2016 20:42

carbcraver I am having to force myself not to read your NN as crabcarver.
Yes, I know, I am weird.

PortiaCastis · 05/09/2016 20:42

Wtf is my fitness pal?

MyDressIsInferiorBlue · 05/09/2016 20:42

I went from a 28 down to a 12/14

Wow. Can I ask a very personal question? Please ignore if you don't want to answer. Its just that I'm a 24trouser 20top and want to get back down to a 12. Did your skin shrink with your weight loss or did you end up with excess skin? Like I say, don't answer if you don't want to.

VanillaSugar · 05/09/2016 20:43

I got a fitbit for my birthday from DH. I have done 9k steps today just moochin around. But then i read on the 5:2 thread that only HIIT training burns off the calories effectively. FML.

AverageGayLad · 05/09/2016 20:46
