Honestly, the amount of declarations about what is healthy and unhealthy.. its ridiculous.

if you listened to everyone on here we'd all have to be vegans and living off sucking water through a celery stick.

Just shut up. If you honestly think food like Sausages, Mashed Potato, Tomato Soup, bread, cheese, milk and most fruit are unhealthy, the you're teaching your kids into eating disorders.

I remember someone on here was talking about Deliciously Ella's quinoa and brown rice stew or whatever but then added : ' Of course, it's not as good as pie and chips' Grin

Fanjolena · 01/09/2016 20:25

My kids had Pizza Hut for dinner last night and pot noodles for lunch today, they loved it. At the moment I'm giving zero fucks what anyone thinks about it Grin

HemanOrSheRa · 01/09/2016 20:25

I love a lunchbox thread. Mine are teens now, once they leave Primary nobody cares too much

Ha! Sparkling. DS starts secondary school next week. We were having a chat about it last night. He said he is very excited as not only do they get taught by excellent teachers but they get to buy bacon rolls at break time Grin.

Sparklingbrook · 01/09/2016 20:27

Oh yes the break time bacon rolls Heman. And the vending machines. Shock

IJustLostTheGame · 01/09/2016 20:28

Im eating cheesecake whilst reading this thread

MaQueen · 01/09/2016 20:31

I've just had a massive bowl of Shreddies and a bag of Wotsits for my dinner. Oh, and a lump of Stilton [defiant]

DDs are away, and DH out...so, I only have to please myself.

Sparklingbrook · 01/09/2016 20:32

I am eating peanut M&Ms.

danTDM · 01/09/2016 20:36

Oh if I see another thread saying 'I'd probably add cucumber sticks and it would be fine, or maybe carrot batons' FFS

What? Cucumber is basically water. So fed up with hearing it

DubiousCredentials · 01/09/2016 20:37

This thread is helping me unclench about dcs diet. I generally avoid threads about children's food on MN as they make me anxious and feel crap about what they eat but actually I think we are pretty normal.

Although nobody would approve of the Rustlers microwave rat burger ds had for lunch today Blush

TaraCarter · 01/09/2016 20:38

My son is eating Lego.[concerned]

HemanOrSheRa · 01/09/2016 20:40

Ooh. I don't know about vending machines Sparkling. I do know that when DS said that he is looking forward to secondary school because they get more choice, he was talking about lunch.

I am just happy that I don't have to deal with the Lunchbox Police or see the lonely apple/banana/lovingly prepared fruit salad come home in a sweaty lunchbox ever again.

Bearfrills · 01/09/2016 20:40

Flipping hell, Tara! Do you know how much sugar is in Lego!? Duplo would be healthier IMO.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 01/09/2016 20:42

I'm fucking fed up with this.

Have some cheese, or mash or some bacon and proper bread.

Stop that avocado, chia and agave sirup nonsense. Fucking dates and maple sirup and gluten free raw brownies.

derxa · 01/09/2016 20:43

Lego! Shock

TaraCarter · 01/09/2016 20:43

No, no, it's okay! It's new and improved Lego with a wider range of colours, not 70s Lego. Rainbow plate, innit?

IPityThePontipines · 01/09/2016 20:43

It's surely just another form of ED to be so bothered about food?

It is indeed and there is a lot of it about. I once started an AIBU about MN being a haven for eating disorders.

I was mildly flamed, but I stand by it.

OnionKnight · 01/09/2016 20:47

Today I've had a pint of orange juice, a microwavable burger, a pizza and garlic bread oh and a few chocolate digestives.

Come at me food police.

Bearfrills · 01/09/2016 20:48

DS school makes me laugh. No chocolate, sweets, biscuits or chocolate coated items allowed in lunch boxes.

Friend had homemade a birthday cake for her DH. It was gluten free (the DH has intolerances), dairy free and low sugar. It was returned with a note reminding her of the no sweets, cakes, etc policy.

School Lunch for that day was "breaded chicken chunks" and "thin cut potato wedges" followed by chocolate cake with chocolate custard.

But no sweet things in the lunch boxes, thanks.

Bearfrills · 01/09/2016 20:49

*She made the cake for her DH but sent a slice to school with her DS next day

Advicepls7080 · 01/09/2016 20:50

I'm surprised a lot of MNers aren't licensed dieticians my actual dietician doesn't go on half as much as some of the people on here it gets ridiculous and boring.

EmGee · 01/09/2016 20:51

I started a thread a while back about whether banana bread was a better breakfast than weetabix. The funniest comment had to be (after 'weetabix is a treat in our house' comment that someone has already mentioned upthread):

Ketchup is a treat.

Can you imagine a world where a dollop of ketchup is considered a treat FFS?????

Advicepls7080 · 01/09/2016 20:54

And yes it definitely makes my eating worse I'm a recovering anorexic (have been saying that since I was 8 HA) and this site does make me worse people spouting stuff all the time.

I actually told my dietician about certain posts and she said they're arse holes without a clue about food. Smile

YokoUhOh · 01/09/2016 20:54

Someone on MN pointed out on a thread the other day (sorry for stealing) that Nigella Lawson and Gillian McKeith* were the same age. One eats rich food and looks like a goddess, the other eats mung beans and looks like a superannuated camel.

*Or, to give her her proper title: Gillian McKeith Grin

ivykaty44 · 01/09/2016 20:55

Ketchup as a treat it is gross revolting stuff like, brown sauce is a different matter Wink

HuckleberryQuinn · 01/09/2016 20:58

How can tomato ketchup be considered a treat? Surely they meant staple?
