Hi! New here so bare with! Netmums has got really anal so I've come to test the waters here. I'm fed up of being called a bully or uneducated ( I'm not) for having an opinion that other precious posters don't agree with. The am I pregnant threads. No your fucking not! The will he ever take me back after I've shagged 4 of his mates? No he won't! The mods who delete threads or ban peeps for telling the truth. The majority of posters banned , I shit you not, we're Brexit voters! So here I am. Think it may take a couple of goes to figure everything out. I've looked and there's some pretty interesting threads on here. Nice to meet you all.

Welcome. Hun.

Pineappletastic · 25/08/2016 20:08

Hi there,

I made the same jump earlier in the week. Should I do xxx against all medical advice? Of course you should, Mummy knows best!!

Crunchymum · 25/08/2016 20:09

Hold on, hold on. The majority of posters banned from NetMums were pro-Brexit?

SomedayBaby · 25/08/2016 20:10

Unless you're 12, YABU for using the word 'peeps'.

imwithspud · 25/08/2016 20:13

Unless you're 12, YABU for using the word 'peeps'.

This.

WelcomeGrin

Marmite27 · 25/08/2016 20:15

There's plenty of 'am I pregnant' posts here, kind of goes hand in hand with parenting IMO.

queenc81 · 25/08/2016 20:15

I've just come over and started a thread like this. Looks like loads of people are making the jump over to mumsnet now haha!

Netmums has got ridiculous, but heard good things about mumsnet. Good luck and hiya X

pottersbabe · 25/08/2016 20:22

Yes crunchymum, Brexit voters. We had a few threads going as no doubt you did here. Lots of opinions flying about. We were bad mums for voting to leave, uneducated, blah blah. A few that shouted the loudest so to speak were banned. The posters who banged on about we are taking your jobs. Still there. Vile .

pottersbabe · 25/08/2016 20:23

Hiya queenc , thanks for the welcome

OhNoNotMyBaby · 25/08/2016 20:23

I will get flamed for this, but IMHO you do need some lessons in grammar. I'm not saying you're (take note) uneducated but you don't know the English language very well. .

You say 'bare with'... bare = take off all your clothes. 'bear with' = stick with me on this one.

You also say " No your fucking not...". 'Your' is possessive, ie it's (it is) either mine or it is yours. 'Your' in this case should be 'you're'... the apostrophe denotes a missing letter, ie ' you are = you're'.

I know you will hate me for this, I expect my post will be deleted. I mean you no disrespect, but as an English language teacher I do feel you should be a bit more informed about what you post.

ThoraGruntwhistle · 25/08/2016 20:25

I think you might be disappointed if you think it's a hugely pro-Brexit site. There are plenty of people from each side, like anywhere else.

RebelRogue · 25/08/2016 20:28

Ohno when I joined I was warned against correcting people's grammar. I thought I just have to put up with it. Now I just let my eye twitch at will and ignore GrinGrin

Hissy · 25/08/2016 20:29

It's not too late to go back to nethuns, you won't like it here either.

OhNoNotMyBaby · 25/08/2016 20:34

Rebel and OP
ignore me. I'm just in a shit mood.

But when your career is based upon English language and when you get paid for helping people to communicate more effectively, it makes me FUCKING MAD when people belittle you for your knowledge and expertise.

OhNoNotMyBaby · 25/08/2016 20:35

Not that anyone on here has belittled me... I'm just expecting it. Sad Angry

HuckleberryQuinn · 25/08/2016 20:36

I wonder what the posters who were banned, actually wrote?

The massively OTT moderation of NMs, which often seems bizarre, is rather annoying , but I really can't see that posters are being banned purely for voting for Brexit.

If anything I found that certain posters who were obsessed with leaving the EU (and were forever bleating how wondrous UKIP were) very rarely got posts deleted, even when their views were rather vile.

PerspicaciaTick · 25/08/2016 20:41

First time posting and you decide to introduce yourself in AIBU? You must have some sort of death wish or a skin like a rhino. Was there absolutely nowhere else on MN which made you think "Ooh I could join in there, they seem nice".

I'd go for a quick name change and cautiously sticking your tow into a nice calm thread in Chat - possibly one about biscuits or cake.

PerspicaciaTick · 25/08/2016 20:43

Arghhh - bloody autocorrect. TOE. TOE. TOE.

queenc81 · 25/08/2016 20:47

I don't think the op knows what AIBU is.
I'm new and so is she and I don't have a clue what it means?

pottersbabe · 25/08/2016 20:47

Yep thick skinned, yep crap at gramma and spelling. Like I said don't know how to use this site so here I am.
Don't really do any baking so biscuits and cakes don't interest me , but thanks for the tip. Not into knitting either.

OP posts:
PerspicaciaTick · 25/08/2016 20:49

But...AIBU is a bear pit. Please, please look at the rest of MN if you want to see our best bits.

RebelRogue · 25/08/2016 20:52

Ohno on the other side of the coin I volunteer at a school and corrected the teacher's spelling,in a very tactful way I hope. I'm still not sure who was more mortified, me or her.

pottersbabe · 25/08/2016 20:53

Where should I go that has nothing to do with baking Smile

OP posts:
PerspicaciaTick · 25/08/2016 20:54

AIBU means Am I Being Unreasonable. And the answer will almost always be a very loud YABU (You Are Being Unreasonable) - some people have to work quite hard to find a reason why YABU, but they will put the effort in.

Look There's a Newbies Corner
Or Chat
Or Classics

Or any of the other Talk Topics

PerspicaciaTick · 25/08/2016 20:55

There's even a whole Topic about the EU Referendum and it's aftermath.
