Hi! New here so bare with! Netmums has got really anal so I've come to test the waters here. I'm fed up of being called a bully or uneducated ( I'm not) for having an opinion that other precious posters don't agree with. The am I pregnant threads. No your fucking not! The will he ever take me back after I've shagged 4 of his mates? No he won't! The mods who delete threads or ban peeps for telling the truth. The majority of posters banned , I shit you not, we're Brexit voters! So here I am. Think it may take a couple of goes to figure everything out. I've looked and there's some pretty interesting threads on here. Nice to meet you all.

Crap at spelling and grammar doesn't strike me as not uneducated. Quite the reverse, in fact.

I know it's bad form and unkind to comment on grammar and spelling on a messageboard. However, if an OP claims that she is not uneducated, then I think her spelling and grammar are fair game. I'm with OhNo sitting on the frustration sofa.

pottersbabe · 25/08/2016 20:56

Thank you for your advice and help.

Ahh ok, that makes sense, think I'll stay away from the bear pit until I've worked my way upGrin

Pottersbabe think we should stick to the newbie section for now Wink xx

OhNo - I don't really understand why posts like yours are seen as inflammatory. If my grip on grammar was bad I'd be grateful for someone knowledgeable pointing out errors and offering corrections. More people should this and fewer people should take offence - and then maybe 'loose' instead of 'lose' and made up words like ALOT would cease to exist!

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 25/08/2016 20:59

Plenty of "am I pregnant" threads here as well, I'm afraid.

You did make an effort to get a proper name and not the UserNumber, so good work there.

And more people should put the DO between 'should' and 'this' in their posts then they wouldn't look like massive dildos! Grin

I've only looked at NM once. It was enough. I'd heard that it was super easy to get banned there.

And local pages that are actually useful.

queenc81 · 25/08/2016 21:07

I've not been on here long, but don't think mumsnet and Netmums are the same at all.

If this post was on Netmums it would have been taken down by now, correcting someone's grammar on Netmums is seen as bullying (I'm not saying it's bullying before I get attacked)

You get more freedom here and I think it should be the same on both sites. But Netmums moderators are terrible.

pottersbabe · 25/08/2016 21:07

Well thank you for the warm welcome! I don't mind if I get gramma or spelling tips off people. Sorry that my first post was here but , accidents do happen.
Thanks for the newbie tips too. Amused to read not to post on here.

It's grammar not gramma.

Anti Brexit and pro grammar here.

OP
I have absolutely no idea why you posted at all tbh. Are you making a point about Netmums, Brexit voters, bullying, education or what?

ABloodyDifficultWoman thank you. I'm feeling a bit jaded with MN right now.

Queenc81 .I didn't know that - I've never been on Netmums.[I won't go there!] I wouldn't have commented if the OP hadn't made a point about being 'uneducated'. The nuance is all wrong though. 'Uneducated' is often taken to mean 'stupid' and this is totally wrong. As is 'ignorance'.

There should be nothing shameful about getting something wrong. A teacher's job is to help student's get stuff right. So if someone says something 'wrong' or 'incorrect', I don't see why others can't help out. If everyone knew everything I would be out of a job.

I know shit all about a whole of stuff. Laying a patio? Give me your tips... I'm doing it on my own right now. Art? just a mess on a canvass. Tell me what I'm missing...
