Technically, I do have a capsule wardrobe because I seem to wear the same four tops and bottoms, day in day out (including the never-to-be-worn-to-Co Op beige monstrosities. Soooo comfy, though)

:) Me too. Now that I have defined my "style", I am just going to get more of the type of tops/bottoms I like in the best quality I can afford. Dog-proof. Might as well go with it.

Chucked out my fantasy clothes already. Too small. For a more glam life than I will ever lead. For events I'll never be invited to (who I am kidding, etc). Clothes that are never quite right (pulling them down, shoes that pinch, etc).

Stripped down to basics.

It feels quite good actually.

Why ARE the comfiest clothes the worst-looking though? Why?

If there's anything you'd like to chat about, just go right ahead.

Would you like some Wine and/or Cake?

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 16/08/2016 13:33

toad. Grin. I too have fantasy clothes. Ridiculous dresses and high heels that I will never wear because I can't walk in the damn things. My favourite is a sparkly halter neck that is completely unflattering and about three sizes too small. Can't bear to chuck it, because, you know.....one day....

toadgirl · 16/08/2016 13:36

Jess

YES! SPARKLY STUFF! I'm like a magpie and imagine I'm going to turn into Marilyn Monroe or something. I never have the event/figure/confidence to wear it. Plus, I feel guilty every time I see it and think of the expense.

It's actually very freeing to let go of it all and concentrate on the stuff I need.

I am filling in the gaps in my wardrobe. Can never have enough black or white v-necked t-shirts in my life. Ordered a few from LTS 'cos I need the extra length. Boring, but they will be worn and worn.

PortiaCastis · 16/08/2016 13:38

I am tres up to my turd eyes with work atm. I read with much hilarity about culinary pursuits I do not pursue. Mary Berry I ain't, more like Fanny Happy.
My current capsule wardrobe consists of sexy lingerie with a missing pearl and a bra with nip holes.

It's worse for me, Jess - my daughter's wardrobe is basically my fantasy clothing! (What I would have worn a couple of decades ago.) You don't know what it's like living with a gorgeous, slim, blonde twenty-something!
Sometimes I'm quite pleased with what I look like, then catch sight of us both in the mirror and want to go back to bed! Grin

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 16/08/2016 13:47

Hi portia Heyyyyyy Aidy Wink

better. Have you ever glanced at your reflection in a car window, winced and then realised someone is actually sitting in said car? (Shudders)

Bettercallsaul1 · 16/08/2016 13:48

The sweet bird of youth has truly flown!

Bettercallsaul1 · 16/08/2016 13:51

No, that fresh source of embarrassment is still in store, Jess but I'mmsure it won't be long.

toadgirl · 16/08/2016 13:54

That stuff doesn't stay on too long either, so they'll never wear out :)

toadgirl · 16/08/2016 13:55

That must be tough!

At least I can forget until faced with a mirror or a shop window Confused

Poor AGL Buy yourself a nice snack to tide you over to dinner. Poor boy!

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 16/08/2016 14:01

AGL. I have discovered that Original Curry is my favourite Pot Noodle. Now that, I can manage to 'cook' Smile

Bettercallsaul1 · 16/08/2016 14:02

I hope you're eating some vegetables, AGL. He hasn't been eating properly, toad.

toadgirl · 16/08/2016 14:04

He hasn't been eating properly, toad

Yes, AGL's diet HAS been rather off-track lately.

I am relaxing the rules on vegetable eating for a bit whilst he's on holidays, but when he comes home, I am going to force-feed him broccoli and suchlike.

Bettercallsaul1 · 16/08/2016 14:05

That's what Mums are for.

AverageGayLad · 16/08/2016 14:05

I'll eat broccoli if it has melted cheese on top Grin

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 16/08/2016 14:10

Ok peeps, what are we describing as broccoli here? Because no offence AGL but the green stuff with cheese? Bleurgh (but then look at my diet). My mum always refers to cauliflower as broccoli. Are they related? And as for swedes/turnips (shakes head).

Bettercallsaul1 · 16/08/2016 14:29

Cauliflower and Broccoli are both brassicas and teeming with antioxidants so even a single sprig of either would enhance AGL's usual diet a millionfold. Grin

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 16/08/2016 14:36

better. Brassicas? Wow. Could I use that word in Co Op? It sounds vaguely lingerie-related and therefore should get Co Op Boy's mind whirring, as toad so frequently suggests.

I've got a shed load of courgettes going spare, if any wants them...

Bettercallsaul1 · 16/08/2016 14:49

I doubt very much if just mentioning the word "brassica" will have the wow factor in the suggestive sense you mean, Jess. Why don't you cook him dinner, using a lot of aphrodisiac-type foods and see if that lures the poor innocent boy him into your arms?
