This thread is great. I'm after a boy name for my pedigree kitten I'm getting soon Grin

Don't think Rory is posh.

jamdonut · 13/08/2016 13:24

Corinthian.

rasperryberet · 13/08/2016 13:24

I have a Rory, so consider myself qualified to comment on that basis. Loved. Jago but husband roared with laughter and scorn.
Hamish
Lawrence (w matters)

Fellatio... There's no real way that's an actual name, right?

GrassW1dow · 13/08/2016 13:25

Is Kit posh? I didn't think so.

Lance

bunnie1975 · 13/08/2016 13:27

We have an Alexander which is shortened to Xander.

AmysTiara · 13/08/2016 13:28

Joshua and Leonard are not at all posh.

How about Lucien/Lucian?

Benedikte2 · 13/08/2016 13:29

CandODad
Anthony with the H sounded is American. Posh Brits thing other Brits who use it don't know it's incorrect and are therefore lower class

Benedikte2 · 13/08/2016 13:30

Jonty is short for Jonathan so not a posh name in its own right. Posh people called Jonathan abbreviate it to Jonty. A nice distinction there

spankhurst · 13/08/2016 13:31

Jago
Sebastian
Edmund
Nathaniel
Iago

Benedikte2 · 13/08/2016 13:32

Jolyon is the Cornish version of Julian and wasn't used much until Galsworthy published the Forsyte Saga

herecomesthsun · 13/08/2016 13:32

Merlin
Felix
Tobias
Jaspar/ Casper/ Kaspar (bit like posh Jayden/ Kayden)
Clement
Digby

Hugo and Leonard seem quite sensible actually, really like Leo

BikeRunSki · 13/08/2016 13:33

Peregrine

I know a Jonty who is just Jonty

The poshest people I know are called Philip and Benedict

herecomesthsun · 13/08/2016 13:33

Oh and the ones like

Atticus
Octavius
Marcus
Lucius
Julius

itssquidstella · 13/08/2016 13:34

It's Ptolemy, not Ptolomy. And you don't pronounce the P.

Fletcherl · 13/08/2016 13:34

Perrt

Fletcherl · 13/08/2016 13:34

Perry even!

liz70 · 13/08/2016 13:37

"Perrt"

Is that what a posh person's fart sounds like?

3luckystars · 13/08/2016 13:37

What about Cuthbert

RickOShay · 13/08/2016 13:41

Diggory

Dickon

JudyCoolibar · 13/08/2016 13:42

Titus

Benedikte2 · 13/08/2016 13:43

FenellaMaxwell You will recall that Jane Eyre has a cousin called St John? Well I lost interest in a serialisation of the book broadcast on radio where it was pronounced Saint John! Couldn't fathom why they would change it. BBC, btw

BagelGoesWalking · 13/08/2016 13:45

Tobias Bentley sounds awesome!

Was going to suggest Barnaby but a bit much to have B in first name and surname?

goshthatseemsalot · 13/08/2016 13:46

Leonard sounds like a second hand car salesman wearing slip on shoes with sovereign rings to me from a 70s sitcom.

whateveryousay · 13/08/2016 13:49

Jeffery

Mysterycat23 · 13/08/2016 13:51

Edgar
Alastair
Thomas (using the full name at all times) Smile
