What about Malachi? One of my favourite names, along with Ptolemy (would shorten to Tolly).

My boy is Toby Edward Lucien. Ironic, considering I'm as common as muck.

Poshest person I ever knew was called Hamilton. He was affectionately called 'Ham', 'Hammy' or just 'H' by his family

DH & DS's names have both been mentioned here... Particularly DS's! We have habitually shortened it to a very common name within the family but he doesn't use it with friends at school etc, he has another longer nickname that some friends use but most people use his full name. He has 2 family middle names... One good one (my side... It is an actual boys name, not unusual but not v common) and one cross to bear along with every other male in DH's family... Not hard to spell just not a first name IMO!! If I were to have another DS now I would be short listing Sholto, Jago and Rollo... Obviously I have a thing for oooos at the moment😂

? But pronouncing the TH in Anthony is definitely common and the name a bit solid estate circa 80s and 90s.

Peregrine has to be pretty high up the posh list!

SaintWillibald · 09/07/2019 16:40

Really surprised to see my son’s name on here, Nathaniel, as we don’t consider it to be posh. I wanted a name that wasn’t already in the family as we have too many duplicates already. His two best friends from primary were also called Nathaniel so that didn’t work 🤣

Ameanstreakamilewide · 09/07/2019 16:40

I was once asked on a date by a man, who's name was Inigo Dunkley.

🤷🏻‍♀️

He was a nice chap, actually and I now wish I'd actually gone out with him.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 09/07/2019 16:43

Hold the phone!

A PP has suggested 'Fellatio' - as a name!

A 'typo' for Horatio, surely??
