To have asked my hairdresser on a date?

Had my hair done on Saturday - we were talking sex; relationships and children and we were bemoaning how difficult it is to meet people at our age (we're both 41) and what we missed as single people.

I've always found him attractive and we always have masses to talk about (my frightwig takes about an hour to cut and dry) and I thought afterwards, fuck it, life's too short.

He has a website for a semi professional thing he does on the side so I emailed through it, suggesting we meet for a coffee. That was at lunchtime, am I insane?

I'll drop a note into the salon if I don't hear by the end of the week, then come back in 6 months looking sheepish.

Don't beat me up but...... A straight hairdresser?

auldspinster · 02/08/2016 18:57

Yes, there are lots of them, most of the male hairdressers I've been to over the years have been.

I asked out my hairdresser and we had a lovely sexual liaison for a few months - good luck !

Very, in a WW1 poet kind of way.

I have a mortgage and two kids with my hairdresser. I don't think you'll even need to find a new hairdresser if it doesn't work out. Straight male hairdressers (yes, there are plenty, though I have noticed that they tend to be the ones who own the salon) get asked out by clients quite a bit.

Must be the combination of being able to make you feel good about how you look, and listen to your problems. Good luck, my fingers are crossed!

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 02/08/2016 19:05

Ooh, good luck. Nothing wrong with it. X
