to think this is a fake Chester Zoo ticket? Seriously, is it fake!?

user1469643462 · 01/08/2016 19:34

Yeah, I think we all know now, but is there like a 1% chance any form of ticket looks like this!?!?

This is basically a follow on too

Now we need to hear the CM's response!

McPie · 02/08/2016 11:33

Really sorry you are having to deal with this. As funny as it seems to some this is your life and you put your trust into someone to look after your child and they pull a stunt like this. I do hope you manage to sort something out.

Nickie71 · 02/08/2016 11:36

As a childminder myself
I would do a risk assessment - take pictures through the day - generally only change the admission price - ask for parents to provide pack lunch ( some cm do it them selves) I have a mixed age group in my experience a child of 5 would be raving on about the zoo

SomedayMyPrinceWillCome · 02/08/2016 11:38

OFSTED will surely only get involved if it is a very serious issue or if other people have also reported concerns (this is in part to stop vexatious reports). They will advise complainants to contact their local authority.
While I am not dismissing the issue here I think it is beyond OFSTED's remit

bettytaghetti · 02/08/2016 11:39

Sorry you're going through this OP.
Like others have said, if she really did take the other children to CZ on other days, then surely she would have a real ticket or at least know what one looks like, so probably has duped them too. I would try to speak to as many as you can if possible and see if any of them have doubts too.
Perhaps you can point your employers in the direction of these threads/fb and then they'll be so distracted they won't realise you're not in work!

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 02/08/2016 11:44

Tempus ActionFraud doesn't really work instead of reporting. It gives a crime number automatically and tracks trends, so lots of similar reports will trigger an investigation, but most things logged aren't looked at. Did you report this as well? Trading standards/the local police could start an actual investigation.

JeanGenie23 · 02/08/2016 11:47

No Someday OFSTED will deal with this, dealing with complaints about childcare settings is one of Ofsted's reason for existing, they are our governing body, so they are there to ensure we do our jobs properly.
Their ears would prick up when OP describes the lie and the fact that the child was never there at all, i would bet it would spark an immediate full inspection

user1469643462 · 02/08/2016 11:49

I will sort it, not sure about contacting her tbh, I don't even know what to say, I'd hate for her to get the other mums to think I'm making it up, as quite frankly, they shouldn't be sending their kids their either. I have found a holiday sports camp that has a space, so ds will be going there tomorrow, I just will feel more at ease, as I do like to watch ds with any new cm to make sure he is happy.

The zoo never answered my email, I love how they changed their mind because of how popular the post got...

I think it is beyond OFSTED's remit

I'm sure OFSTED can decide on that, so I'd talk to them.

user1469643462 · 02/08/2016 11:50

Someday, do you not think it's serious?

OP posts:
cbigs · 02/08/2016 11:54

Aw op I'm really sorry . It's totally awful what she's done and most of all confusing your poor ds! I know we've been finding it banter but I do understand that it's really not on at all. Flowerscan't believe the cheek of her . She must have felt she couldn't come clean!

Storminateapot · 02/08/2016 11:59

HMRC might be interested - bet you anything this person isn't declaring that income & is still deducting cost of fake tickets for fake outings as expenses.

purplefox · 02/08/2016 12:01

Did she not ask for a reason when you told her your DS wouldn't be going back?

user1469643462 · 02/08/2016 12:04

Where did I say I have told her? Confused as I haven't

OP posts:
SpidersFromMars · 02/08/2016 12:04

I don't think any children ever went to the zoo with her. If they did she would have scanned their ticket to give to you as "evidence"

Atinybittiredandsad · 02/08/2016 12:05

I think op you should really now either give your cm notice or stop this now.

If she has lied or you think she's lied then give notice and get other child care.

Is she's innocent you could find yourself in serious trouble for mentioning her all over the Internet.

It's almost bullying now sorry. She will be easily identifiable and if this gets any bigger local press could pick it up.

If she's telling the truth, and it's possible, you will ruin her business and reputation.

This isn't right.

If you have concerns contact Ofsted.

Bullying? She has lied. The zoo have confirmed that.

OP posts:
Storminateapot · 02/08/2016 12:08

How is it possible she is telling the truth when her 'evidence' is a badly faked ticket? Come on!

user1469643462 · 02/08/2016 12:08

Well, the zoo wasn't going to comment on the thread, they asked to email, so I did, but then changed their mind and put it on the thread but ignored my email

OP posts:
NeedACleverNN · 02/08/2016 12:09

What on earth do you mean the zoo changed their mind?

NeedACleverNN · 02/08/2016 12:09

Cross post

user1469643462 · 02/08/2016 12:09

That wasn't a dig at the zoo btw!

OP posts:
RoseGoldHippie · 02/08/2016 12:12

Have you said something to the CM? Kind of need to know what she says now xx

user1469643462 · 02/08/2016 12:13

No, I haven't
