Yeah, I think we all know now, but is there like a 1% chance any form of ticket looks like this!?!?

This is basically a follow on too

OP by the way, what did you say to her when she handed you this ticket? To be honest I'd have been gobsmacked but as I'm shy is have probably scuttled off home before figuring out what to do.

Gutted for you having to take time off work coz of her, hopefully you can get some sort of compensation.

user1469643462 · 01/08/2016 22:19

If I was a PBP surely they wouldn't be emailing me telling me about my thread? How odd... Even odder to think I'd move to post this!

MNHQ are keeping up a real time debate with you about the deletion or otherwise of one of your threads OP?

Shock

It just gets weirder!

SpaceUnicorn · 01/08/2016 22:19

Not suggesting the OP is a pbp, but surely if a pbp moves then it's impossible to know? I'm assuming they look at ip addresses, surely they change when you move? It's been bugging me for ages to know.

I guess if someone moved them they wouldn't be able to link previously held accounts via the IP address, but people probably don't move house often enough for it to be a huge problem.

cbigs · 01/08/2016 22:20

Aw op , I'm really sorry this is a nightmare for you. but it is a genius thread that must go to classics WineCake

HerRoyalFattyness · 01/08/2016 22:20

mummy the IP address comes from the device being used, not the address it's used at.

Storminateapot · 01/08/2016 22:20

Is that right? Hmmm. reconsiders MO for anonymously stalking Tom Hiddleston

HarryPottersMagicWand · 01/08/2016 22:21

Ok, checking in to this thread. I cannot belive the CM has gone to the lengths of making a fake ticket. Surely she would know she has been rumbled!

SpaceUnicorn · 01/08/2016 22:22

Mummy IP addresses don't change when you move, each computer has it's own no matter where you are, so if I'm on my laptop in Essex my IP address is 1234, it's 1234 in Wales, a remote Scottish Island, Disney Land Florida etc

Well, you live and learn! I did not know that.

Ivechangedmyname1 · 01/08/2016 22:22

Connifer Bob was fake :( not happy

Mummyme1987 · 01/08/2016 22:22

So if you bought a new laptop it's different? Always wondered. one of those things I feel I should know but don't!

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 01/08/2016 22:23

Well assuming for one crazy minute it is genuine
. They want to work on their design. It looks awful and very unprofessional.

user1469643462 · 01/08/2016 22:23

My IP is the same on my laptop and phone, why is that? does not understand IP addresses

SheHasAWildHeart · 01/08/2016 22:23

Didn't have troll suspicions until I saw this continuation thread. Why start a new thread when the old one was active and trending?

SpaceUnicorn · 01/08/2016 22:23

I totally missed conifer Bob, must have been during one of my attempted MN fasts

ABloodyDifficultWoman · 01/08/2016 22:24

I remember Conifer Bob Grin - that one WAS funny!

user1469643462 · 01/08/2016 22:24

SheHasAWildHeart I already said why on the first time, like 3 times!

OP posts:
ABloodyDifficultWoman · 01/08/2016 22:24

SheHas - a new thread is usually started when the original has reached or nearly reached it's post limit of 1000. Nothing fishy about that.

cowssheephens · 01/08/2016 22:25

What happened today when she gave you the ticket? What did she say?

I hope you are going to report her, awful behaviour.

StillRabbit · 01/08/2016 22:25

IP address is 'issued' by the server you are attached to. My current IP address will be different to the one I would be posting on using the same device at work, on holiday, or attached to free wifi at the coffee shop. DHworks in the relevant field and I checked with him.

Not that I think the thread isnt genuine though.

Mummyme1987 · 01/08/2016 22:25

Was that the hr interview because of the list of plants?

WrappedInABlankie · 01/08/2016 22:26

I'm sorry but this is absolutely not true. IP addresses are assigned by your internet service provider (ISP). They are not linked physically to your computer in any way. Every computer on your home LAN will have the same public IP address. This may change at times, as ISPs generally assign IP addresses in dynamic ranges rather than giving each customer their very own fixed unchanging address. So technically, banning a PBP permanently is pretty difficult.

That's kind of what I thought Confused
