Cut out shoulders tops

I am in no doubt I am being unreasonable, can't stand these tops and think they make the most attractive people look bloomin' awful. I can't be alone in this surely?

I really hated them. But then found one that I liked from I think river island. Most of them look cheap though

ExtraHotLatteToGo · 29/07/2016 19:50

I think, generally speaking, they look a bit stupid. Why would you want great holes in your jumper? 😁

But if I looked like the girl in the Link does, I'd go around in a bikini 😁😁. Missing shoulders...Pah!

GirlOverboard · 29/07/2016 19:57

YANBU to dislike them. I think they make otherwise nice tops look absolutely hideous. Each to their own though. I'm sure a lot of people would dislike the stuff that I wear.

LoreleiGilmoreIsMyBFF · 29/07/2016 20:00

I've got one & hate the bloody thing as I'm forever trying to get my arms through the shoulders by mistake. Can't be doing with complications like that first thing in the morning!

I don't posses one but I think they are really stylish. Fashion has been so " safe" for too long. I find the most stylish women are mostly wearing charity shop finds nowadays.
As I have broad shoulders; a ridiculously narrow ribcage and small boobs the cut out shoulders wouldn't suit me.

Eva50 · 29/07/2016 20:01

I don't have one so I can't really say but I have quite good shoulders and lower arms and the most hideous upper arms where weight loss and exercise have left excess skin (sorry if tmi) so I can't help but wonder if they might hide the worst of me.

Philoslothy · 29/07/2016 20:01

I suspect that on the right person with the right outfit they could look OK, I am not that person and don't have that outfit.

Somebody was wearing on on lose women with heels and what looked like a pencil skirt and heels, it was not a great look on her

Very useful if you are going for a flu jab or similar.

helenatroy · 29/07/2016 21:07

Horrible. Second only to polo necked jumpers with no sleeves. WHY WHY WHY?

Lovelyname · 29/07/2016 21:11

I like them!

Lovelyname · 29/07/2016 21:11

I think you have to be under 30 to get away with wearing one

BestZebbie · 29/07/2016 21:16

I bought one for the heatwave and love it - at the moment my arms are super toned from toddler lifting so a piece of clothing that shows the top six inches of my torso but then glosses over the rest, whilst still allowing a bra, is pretty much perfect (and a welcome break from massive tunics which cover everything)

winkywinkola · 29/07/2016 21:19

Ugly. They look crap on everyone.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 29/07/2016 21:22

They look really cheap, and I bet people aren't putting sunscreen on their shoulders either...

specialsubject · 29/07/2016 21:22

They don't flatter the overweight.

SuckingEggs · 29/07/2016 21:25

They look great on the right physique. Look fucking awful on the wrong shape. Like most clothes!!

bumsexatthebingo · 29/07/2016 21:27

The long sleeved tight fitting ones look nice on a slender frame. The frilly, loose fitting, paisley/floral monstrosities look awful though.

SuckingEggs · 29/07/2016 21:30

I agree - long sleeved is better.

MaQueen · 29/07/2016 21:32

I have a black, DKNY one which is in a flattering cut and looks really good with jeans. I have quite shapely shoulders and arms are okay, plus am tanned at the mo' so think I look good Smile

RingUpRingRingDown · 29/07/2016 21:35

I don't think they look good on anyone.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 29/07/2016 21:46

I like them. I don't have a tan (will NEVER have a tan) but I do have sticking out collar bones. ;)

beeny · 29/07/2016 21:48

I agree they look awful !

LoreleiGilmoreIsMyBFF · 29/07/2016 21:50

Oh great. You 'have to be under thirty' and they 'don't suit the overweight'. On the plus side, I now have a new rag to clean the loo with.
