In our case its a pack of toilet rolls. Don't ask me why but we always take some with us whenever we are going away, even just for a weekend. No history of ever running out of them anywhere but just can't leave home without a back up supply

A box of Ziplox plastic bags. Endless uses. One segregates dirty smalls till I can wash them. Another keeps brochures, travel info together. Another for passport, boarding passes, room confirmations, etc. For a damp swimsuit. Knickers (clean) all in one place, ditto socks. Wouldn't go anywhere without them.

related: if you fly abroad, try ordering online from Boots. You pick up a nicely-boxed order airside, so (a) it doesn't have to go through security so you can take large bottles, (b) it doesn't count as part of your luggage as it's effectively 'duty free'.

ishouldcocoa I prefer the sound of your holiday place! I can happily get through a week without the urge to cook more than toast for breakfast, but not getting into a bottle of wine with a cork is a whole other kettle of fish (with unsieved veg).
