would you believe ds (5) or the childminder? childminer took ds and the children elsewhere

It is the summer holidays so ds has to be with a childminer, for 3 days a week. I pay her for the actual care she provides, then i pay for any visits to places on top of that, they were supposed to be going to the zoo today and i had paid £21 for ds's zoo ticket and i know that isnt loads but tbh with the cost i had already paid for her to look after him it was almost today's wages! ds goes there with 2 boys and a little girl aswell all around the same age give or take. Ds got home and was telling me all about his trip to the local museum (which was free) i did not have a problem with that he seemed to have had a great time. I phoned up the childminder and asked if she could just paypal the money back over and she said that she had no idea what i was going on about and that she took them to the zoo Hmm I know children do love to use their imagination, so i was a bit undecided, ds kept going on about the objects he had seen and told me a story about a man showing them the kids bit. ds has never been to this museum and it was just odd how well he was explaining it. I would love to phone the other parents but tbh i dont actually know them! it's all very odd...

Coconutty the CM gave OP the 'ticket' as proof that she'd taken the child to the zoo.

calamityjam · 01/08/2016 20:11

If they are off the tinternet apparently they look like this.

Here's a real one in case you haven't seen the other thread:'

Proper belly laughing at some of the comments on this thread. Amazing.

But sorry op, worrying about what else she may have or will lie about. Make sure you get your money back, that is so wrong of her, Hope you can find some other child care

stouensbay · 01/08/2016 20:28

As an experiment I will ask my DC tomorrow what they remember about the zoo we went to on Friday. I bet it is the sandpit and the ice creams!

ArmySal · 01/08/2016 21:13

🐂💩

RuggerHug · 01/08/2016 21:19

Army don't say that! It was considered here but I don't want to believe it!

HarryPottersMagicWand · 01/08/2016 22:34

What did she actually say this morning OP?! Thrust a 'ticket' at you saying "here, see I did go" as you walked off? We need to know how it happened.

MuffyTheUmpireSlayer · 01/08/2016 23:31

I cannot believe the cheek of this woman! She really keeps digging herself into a deeper hole here.

AndNowItsSeven · 02/08/2016 00:02

Milimat off ticket but how did your dd get a blue peter badge?

HarrietSchulenberg · 02/08/2016 02:21

Totally off topic but I grew up across the fields from Chester Zoo. On quiet nights (ie before the M53 was built) I could hear the elephants and seals if our windows were open. A gorilla, or maybe chimp, called used to escape quite regularly and rock up in the gardens down the road from the old zoo entrance too.

Oh, and my money's def on a fibbing CM and a trip to the (free and wonderful) Grosvenor museum as I said upthread.

Thebeachismyhappyplace · 02/08/2016 04:47

Has anyone nominated this for Classics?

BoGrainger · 02/08/2016 08:35

I still think if the CM was lying/cheating/disingenuous she would have made up a better story. E.g. Would have suggested 'giraffe' to ds instead of 'coins' as a memory jogger. Maybe producing the 'ticket' is just a joke after reading about herself on MN Grin

Lweji · 02/08/2016 08:40

Or a test to make sure it was about her.

MrsJoeyMaynard · 02/08/2016 09:13

Or a test to make sure it was about her.

What, so tomorrow she's going to produce a genuine ticket and a photo album of OPs son in front of a dozen different animal enclosures, before accusing OP of falsely accusing her on Mumsnet?

EmmaJ86 · 02/08/2016 09:18

napQueen. I am also a childminder. I took my mindees to the ice cream farm yesterday and uploaded 84 pictures. I covered the cost but left their wrist bands on for clarification.took them to acorn farm in Liverpool a month ago again covered the costs and gift and I am going to West Midlands zoo end of August it's costing me just short of £70 but I've covered the lot. It's my choice to go to the zoo my choice to pay. I take tonnes of pictures and buy them a small gift from gift shop. I would say if this CM is lying she needs reporting. First for breaking parents trust and safeguarding but also because it gives us all a bad name xx

Lweji · 02/08/2016 09:18

That would be something, but I don't think the OP would post it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/08/2016 11:20

CZ have confirmed ticket is a fake

As I said on the other thread this is now a safe guarding issue. The cm has lied and stolen money and ofsted needs to be informed

bubbles19 · 02/08/2016 12:24

My kind side thinks the child minder has now made you a receipt for your records instead of showing the actually ticket. My other side is still suspicious as to why your son can describe a museum and not talk about animals, especially when prompted. Mine would probably talk about the coins more than animals but would love to share about the smells and any poo they may have seen!

Horehound · 02/08/2016 15:14

.

LadyStoicIsBack · 02/08/2016 15:29

Doubt this will make it to classics as when OP reports it will become Sub Judice and fall foul of Contempt law.

LadyStoicIsBack · 02/08/2016 15:30

IE I suspect whole thread/s will be deleted pretty swiftly once OP reports.

Mycraneisfixed · 03/08/2016 00:16

Thought this was deleted as a troll thread.
