It is the summer holidays so ds has to be with a childminer, for 3 days a week. I pay her for the actual care she provides, then i pay for any visits to places on top of that, they were supposed to be going to the zoo today and i had paid £21 for ds's zoo ticket and i know that isnt loads but tbh with the cost i had already paid for her to look after him it was almost today's wages! ds goes there with 2 boys and a little girl aswell all around the same age give or take. Ds got home and was telling me all about his trip to the local museum (which was free) i did not have a problem with that he seemed to have had a great time. I phoned up the childminder and asked if she could just paypal the money back over and she said that she had no idea what i was going on about and that she took them to the zoo Hmm I know children do love to use their imagination, so i was a bit undecided, ds kept going on about the objects he had seen and told me a story about a man showing them the kids bit. ds has never been to this museum and it was just odd how well he was explaining it. I would love to phone the other parents but tbh i dont actually know them! it's all very odd...

I would sack her and print this thread off for her.

JinRamen · 01/08/2016 19:22

That ain't no proper ticket! Grin

And surely she would have not needed the weekend to print a fake one grab it out of her bag or off the bench/table?

BifsWif · 01/08/2016 19:22

Dh said you should email it to Chester zoo and ask if that's a standard receipt.

JinRamen · 01/08/2016 19:23

I agree, EMAIL THE ZOO!

rollonthesummer · 01/08/2016 19:24

Peak date?!

Surely there's a mumsnetter here who's been to Chester zoo recently who has a ticket in their bag!??

We are also presuming that lying childminder went on Wednesday so surely she know what the zoo tickets look like!!

kurlique · 01/08/2016 19:24

^^ this, always a shiney thin paper till roll type receipt!!!

MoonfaceAndSilky · 01/08/2016 19:24

user1469643462 · 01/08/2016 19:26

wonderful, now what the fuck do I do? To be honest, on a serious note, can you get emergency childcare? Yes, I was assuming she had been on the Tuesday, what if she has lied to us all? So fed up with her now to be hinest

There is no way that ticket is real Shock

Happylandpirate · 01/08/2016 19:27

I took my 4 year to Chester Zoo a month ago... At the moment there is a dinosaur expedition and also "the islands" which is a new part, which is very "explorer" themed, lots of little tents, with tin hats etc and guides there who give talks etc... I'd be tempted to think it was that?? However, if I asked my DD on the day or even now what was her favourite part of Chester zoo I could guarantee she'd say the monkeys, elephants etc not a few little tents set up and a man talking about "exploring"!!!!

53rdAndBird · 01/08/2016 19:28

It's this image off their website with logos and text copy/pasted on, isn't it?

DietCockBreak · 01/08/2016 19:28

OP start a new thread entitled "is this a real chester zoo ticket" someone will have real tickets from a recent visit I hope but this thread will be full soon.

minionsrule · 01/08/2016 19:28

Some poor animals will go hungry if someone has to read through over 900 messages!!!!

Voddy4 · 01/08/2016 19:28

Op you really need to just tell the cm to give you your money back

toastedbeagle · 01/08/2016 19:28

I'm so regretful I have a season pass and cannot help with what an actual ticket looks like... I'm pretty sure the "child" should have the first letter capitalised though!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/08/2016 19:29

Yes you can get emergency childcare. Google nanny agencies near you or look at sitters

Storminateapot · 01/08/2016 19:30

Hold on - surely she wouldn't be dumb enough to mock up a ticket that doesn't even look like a Chester Zoo ticket? I agree it looks all wrong unless it is actually printed to look like brown paper. Is it brown?

NatureCreatesFreaks · 01/08/2016 19:30

That's a fake ticket. I've been going to Chester zoo atleast once a year for past 20 odd years and the ticket has never looked like that.

plus they have the big dino experience there atm, which is fab!!! Any 5yr old would be gushing about it for weeks!

Happylandpirate · 01/08/2016 19:30

Sorry bit late to the party!!! BlushBlush

Farmmummy · 01/08/2016 19:30

Did she firebomb it hoping it may make it look authentic??? Confused

wineandcheeseplease · 01/08/2016 19:31

Oh dear... that's awful and fake
