It is the summer holidays so ds has to be with a childminer, for 3 days a week. I pay her for the actual care she provides, then i pay for any visits to places on top of that, they were supposed to be going to the zoo today and i had paid £21 for ds's zoo ticket and i know that isnt loads but tbh with the cost i had already paid for her to look after him it was almost today's wages! ds goes there with 2 boys and a little girl aswell all around the same age give or take. Ds got home and was telling me all about his trip to the local museum (which was free) i did not have a problem with that he seemed to have had a great time. I phoned up the childminder and asked if she could just paypal the money back over and she said that she had no idea what i was going on about and that she took them to the zoo Hmm I know children do love to use their imagination, so i was a bit undecided, ds kept going on about the objects he had seen and told me a story about a man showing them the kids bit. ds has never been to this museum and it was just odd how well he was explaining it. I would love to phone the other parents but tbh i dont actually know them! it's all very odd...

Twitter is another idea actually. Start a new thread and tweet it.

Sorry your cm has been crap.

rollonthesummer · 01/08/2016 19:32

What did you say when she gave you this ticket?

minionsrule · 01/08/2016 19:32

Passes Happy a glass of wine and a piece of cake - enjoy the party Smile

user1469643462 · 01/08/2016 19:32

It is printed in black and white, when you actually look at it in real life, which doesn't make sense as £22 is the at the gate price so why would she have printed it at home, for £22? It's a piss take. I am getting that money back though as that's out of order.

Will do, will ask that on a new thread now

The ticket we got was like a till receipt with a barcode on it

MrsJoeyMaynard · 01/08/2016 19:33

Someone who's recently been to Chester Zoo needs to post a picture of their ticket for comparison.

I have never been to Chester Zoo, but IME, the crappy till receipt type tickets I've got from touristy places tend to be a bit more detailed than that.

Unless perhaps it's only part of a receipt? (Clutching at straws)

fastdaytears · 01/08/2016 19:34

Ha ha ha ha ha

No barcode? Fire effect?

I can't help with the emergency childcare, but yes you need some!

Only1scoop · 01/08/2016 19:34

Looks like it's been written on with a calligraphy pen

See if it smudges....

Email zoo and ask.

QuackDuckQuack · 01/08/2016 19:34

Clutching at straws here, but did she say that was the original ticket or did she say she'd copied it for you as she needs the original for her records?

DietCockBreak · 01/08/2016 19:34

All the added writing on the "ticket" is lower case, there aren't even capitals at the beginning. On the website there's nothing like that - there are capitals at the start of sentences, or even whole words all in caps. Also, it's just obviously not a real fucking ticket!!

Only1scoop · 01/08/2016 19:34

Normally barcodes on to be zapped

DollyTwat · 01/08/2016 19:35

Op you could tweet the zoo and ask them

EarthboundMisfit · 01/08/2016 19:35

I couldn't send my son back. Have you paid in advance?

ShatnersBassoon · 01/08/2016 19:35

Their tickets are just a receipt.

This is the daftest, but most intriguing thread I've ever read!

Last time I went, a year ago it was cardboard tickets with colour and barcodes.

Happylandpirate · 01/08/2016 19:35

Minions thank you... I'll have the cake... Can you save my wine for 3 months... 6 months pregnant and I'd LOVE a glass but must decline... Or drink it yourself and have one on ice for me in 3 months Grin

Storminateapot · 01/08/2016 19:36

Ok that is then a piss poor attempt and an insult to you. How very very bizarre.

YesYABU · 01/08/2016 19:36

If she's enough of a liar to make a crappy ticket and print it at home it makes you wonder whether:
She's Ofsted registered
She does risk assessments when she takes the children out (even if it's not to the zoo!)
What else she lies about

I do hope she's on MN so can see that she's been well and truly rumbled.

Happylandpirate · 01/08/2016 19:37

I went Chester zoo a month ago... Ticket was a just a normal email confirmation. If you pay on the day they hand you a normal size black and white receipt.. Nothing like the OP has posted!!!

Goingtobeawesome · 01/08/2016 19:37

It's like the lottery granny again!

Blu · 01/08/2016 19:37

Chester Zoo is a registered charity. Any ticket should have the charity number on it.

user1469643462 · 01/08/2016 19:37

It's a new thread so I can tweet

I was erring on the side of the ds being confused, but that "ticket" is the worst photoshop I've ever seen. She's clearly taken the image from this page: www.chesterzoo.org/animals, added the "chester zoo" logo and then laid over the fake ticket details in the most "crappy photoshop attempt" font anyone could possibly pick.

CM obviously isn't the creative type.

Storminateapot · 01/08/2016 19:39

Colchester Zoo gives a till receipt not something weird like that. The writing is one of those handwriting fonts.
But - assuming she DID go to the zoo one day last week, surely she'd have used an actual ticket to base her fake upon? It just seems too bizarre that she wouldn't.
