Bettercallsaul1 · 02/08/2016 21:20

If she is a teenager, she will say many, many things she doesn't mean - especially to her Mum.

PortiaCastis · 02/08/2016 21:54

Yes I will im going now.

Bettercallsaul1 · 02/08/2016 22:04

Try not to take anything your daughter says too seriously, Portia. Apparently, teenagers' brains completely transform during these years, with the emotional area being dominant over the rational, logical side. I recently heard that they (temporarily) closely resemble the brain of a toddler. But teenagers can't help it - they are really at the mercy of their changing physiology. They generally emerge as lovely, nature adults a few years later. You just have to bear with her and try not to take things personally. If she has a nice boyfriend, that will help to steady her. And PMT is awful - if that's a factor, things should calm down a bit in a few days and you can talk again then. Commiserations. Flowers

I hope Portia and DD are OK tonight Sad

PortiaCastis · 03/08/2016 00:16

Hi everyone, I found them and dd is ok. We've had a chat she has apologised and now gone to bed. Further discussion in the morning. Thanks for your helpful posts very much appreciated and apologies for ruining the thread.
I feel tired but doubt I'll sleep as my brain is doing somersaults but feel better now.
Someone ring Aidan and tell him to get his ass here. 😍

MrsTerryPratchett · 03/08/2016 00:33

You didn't ruin the thread. This thread is for all comers (you know, with the OP's permission and all).

Glad to hear PortiaKid is OK@!

Bettercallsaul1 · 03/08/2016 06:46

Glad to read your post at 00:16, Portia. Hope things are better for you today.

Hope you had a better night last night as well, toadgirl, and weren't awake for hours on end.

BathshebaDarkstone · 03/08/2016 06:54

Thanks MrsTerry. It's been a good few months. HmmGrin

BathshebaDarkstone · 03/08/2016 06:59

Thanks MrsTerry. HmmGrin As DH has gone to work and the DC are asleep, I've just texted DS1. Grin

VanillaSugar · 03/08/2016 07:12

Hello Portia - glad to hear that you found them. Sometimes it takes a situation to explode like this so that everyone can finally sit down and fess up about what's really bothering them.

Is your DD waiting for AS results? Don't forget that the results are published the week after next so she could be stressing out over that. Flowers and lots of Chocolate for both of you.

You are a VERY good Mum. I'd have just sent a text saying "It's raining. Come home and have a shower & a hot chocolate" and then gone to bed (but not slept until she'd got home, obvs). X

Yes MrsTP - this thread is for everyone and all topics: education, health, support, sexy pics of men to make us laugh.

Can't believe we're almost half way! If you all get bored of this thread then I'm just going to keep posting "Bump"

"BUMP"

"marking my place" until I finally get there.

Damon. Just thought about winning. Then I thought of The Game. And now I've lost. Booooooo!!

Bettercallsaul1 · 03/08/2016 07:56

This is good - everyone's making an early start!

I see this thread as a meandering river - most of the time just flowing along gently, a couple of posts at a time, and then suddenly hitting a stronger current and rushing forward. Am in metaphorical mood today.

Bettercallsaul1 · 03/08/2016 07:59

Oh, and 1000 posts is the sea, where we disappear for ever. Sad

VanillaSugar · 03/08/2016 08:33

Like IgglePiggle. Destined to sail the seas of isolation for eternity.

I always cry at the end of In the Night Garden 😢😢😢

OP posts:
Bettercallsaul1 · 03/08/2016 10:24

I've never seen In the Night Garden, although I've heard of IgglePiggle.

Sounds very profound.
