Seriously, terror attacks, shootings, stabbing (8, 12, 14 yr old and their mum) in France and that is just the last few days.
I'm starting to wonder about a world that I have bought my daughter into and It's getting worse

There have been more mass shootings by white boys and men this year, than there have been acts of terrorism by muslims. A terrorist, no matter his religion is wrong. No matter his motive, killing innocent people is always wrong.

I was born the same week as the Brixton riots occurred. My mum has often said she had similar feelings to yours OP about the kind of world she'd brought her children into.

I think it's more that having a small child makes you more sensitive to the horrors of this world rather than that the world is getting worse.

Men from Islamic countries have a different attitude to women. I don't know why people pretend they don't. Of course there are sexist / disrespectful men of all creeds, colours and religions but Islam is a religion that places no value on women at all. Muslims who are educated and westernised are not like this - men from Muslim countries though? Yes there is a different attitude and it is accepted as the norm
