Am I just being female and hormonal??

So every morning I shower, wash my hair, put make up on and wear nice clothes....this morning I chucked on an old pair of jeans and a jumper to do a couple of things around the house. DP gets ready and suggests we go out somewhere. He says he'll be ready in 20 mins. I say I'll need more time as i haven't even showered yet. He says 'oh, I thought you were ready'.

I never go anywhere without make up...I don't wear tons of it but you can definitely tell the difference; I have curly hair so without it being done, I look like I've been dragged through a hedge. We haven't been together for years and years, I fancy him like mad. I'm also 19 weeks pregnant and am feeling fat and hormonal. Now I think that he just doesn't even notice how I look anymore and obviously doesn't fancy me. Please tell me I'm mad and need to get a grip.....

Noonesfool - I get what your saying, and I guess if it was a man posting to say women should always wear make up, i would completely disagree. I hate how the media try to make women feel shit if they're not thin with perfect hair and make up, but each to they're own. I'm not telling anyone they're wrong if they never wear make up, it's just not what I choose to do. But I am quite vain

Yeah, I know what you mean Navy - and I get that, it's for you.

But it's interesting to try and pick apart how much of that decision is free will and how much is determined by the society we are products of.

I work a lot with teenagers Navy. Challenging stereotypes of "beauty", analysing it just a little is definitely a big part of it - for boys and girls.

I've just finished a really interesting piece of work about young teenager boys and porn - there are some terrifying attitudes to women being formed.

noone that sounds interesting. Porn is responsible for a lot but I do think the more insidious attitudes are more damaging. For example what women are wearing and what size they are. I had a thread recently which I was talking about being tall - it's become a non issue now but I recall very clearly people asking me if I wish I'd been a man as if it'd have made my life and height therefore acceptable .

Red I agree re insidious attitudes, absolutely.

The real problem with the free availability of hardcore porn is that children who have never had any sort of sexual relationship are pretty much having their ability to form "normal" sexual relationships short circuited. It can become extremely difficult to return to innocently holding hands when you've spent hours watching girls do deep throats on command.
