AIBU to find Loose Women panelist Jamelia extremely irritating?

I can't believe I have admitted I actually watch that show But yes, I do

So is it just me? Jamelia is utterly annoying!

I know the purpose behind the show is to have panelists with different view points so that there can be a spirited debate.

But must she ALWAYS have a totally random opinion that is completely contrary to everyone else? It's absolutely fine to disagree, but her disagreement rarely makes sense and she always gets needlessly agitated while making her point.

She also has a tendency to be on a high horse and take the most uppity and moral stance possible.

I'm thinking of this one occasion she was so judgemental of women in the sex trade and another occasion where she had some odd opinions on teenagers being able to access birth control.

And believe me, I dislike Nigel Farage, but when he came on the show, he seemed like the sensible one in front of her. It wasn't I disagreed with her points, she was just so tangential while making it!!

TBF, as a white person, I wonder if this is part of white privilege? I mean as a white person if I saw a thread about a white woman being annoying it would never occur to me that it would possibly be about the colour of her skin. A black person may well think it's about skin colour when the thread is about a black woman, and probably has reason to question that. The fact I don't have to question it is part of my white privilege? (sorry to detract from the original post but white privilege is something I'm trying to get my head around and thought it might be relevant here).

BTW I'm not saying this post is racist, nor do I think it's fair to suggest it may be a black witch hunt or whatever it was that was said - but I do understand why the thought may have crossed Teas mind which is sad.

I quite like Katie Price on it . Didn't really like her before watching the show, but at least she comes across as genuine when she's giving her views

quail it was proven it was NOT a police officer and she jumped the gun in broadcasting that as a fact before anything had even been investigated. And she never retracted her accusation or admitted she was wrong.. That is a pretty serious accusation to make, especially when the police get enough shit as it is.

I try and avoid Loose Women because it makes my throat clench shut in rage. But on the few times I was held hostage on the sofa by breastfeeding DD while on maternity leave and caught Jamelia on it, she always struck me as being as thick as a brick.

Also, she had some pretty right wing views if I recall. I vaguely remember some debate they were having about rape and what 'counted' as 'rape rape', and the victim blaming from her was utterly depressing.

That Andrea what's her name is as bad. Thick as mince and totally ignorant.

Janet S-P is a really accomplished woman, I don't know why she lowers herself by going on there.

Thanks Quail for explaining the depth behind my warning earlier on the thread. I have not called anyone on this thread racist. I have however warned that the tone of the users dislike should not descend to personal characteristics of the LW member, as this has happened repeatedly on many other threads, even ones about Michelle Obama, which do not ring well on reflection. My irritation with many of those other threads is that despite them being reported, the comments often reached beyond 250posts before they were removed, whereas many other posts that become venomous are removed earlier.

Yes SemiNormal, white privilege does account for part of the posters anger towards my warning. They do not need to justify that they have 10 or 100 black kids at home to prove their cultural appreciation of non majority races, however they just need to be aware of the cultural appropriations and the historical indoctrination that occurs when judgement of minority races occurs, and unless it is mentioned we can all behave blissfully unaware of the implications.
