AIBU to find Loose Women panelist Jamelia extremely irritating?

I can't believe I have admitted I actually watch that show But yes, I do

So is it just me? Jamelia is utterly annoying!

I know the purpose behind the show is to have panelists with different view points so that there can be a spirited debate.

But must she ALWAYS have a totally random opinion that is completely contrary to everyone else? It's absolutely fine to disagree, but her disagreement rarely makes sense and she always gets needlessly agitated while making her point.

She also has a tendency to be on a high horse and take the most uppity and moral stance possible.

I'm thinking of this one occasion she was so judgemental of women in the sex trade and another occasion where she had some odd opinions on teenagers being able to access birth control.

And believe me, I dislike Nigel Farage, but when he came on the show, he seemed like the sensible one in front of her. It wasn't I disagreed with her points, she was just so tangential while making it!!

Yes, she's a combination of woefully ignorant thick and astonishingly opinionated.

And she doesn't pretend to know about things she doesn't actually have a fucking clue on (like Jamelia...)

Don't mind Katie on this- she's not smart, but she doesn't pretend to be and is happy to admit when she's wrong (such as when she was criticised for piercing her daughter's ears and putting makeup on her)

Jamelia will say the most idiotic thing and then tweet that she "stand by it"

I boycott LW. Always thought it was a bit annoying inane drivel, but during the Ched Evans media storm there was a lot of blatant rape apology going on and not a single presenter effectively challenged it. They just sat there like fucking wallies.

And I personally did not like Superstar, it's not my kind of music.

It's fine if you don't like the song, I like it but not enough to be on my iPod. Your reply about her 'apparently' being a singer came across as rathe condensending. You know she is a singer, you name checked one of her songs!

I knew she had been a singer in the past, I don't know if she is currently one. Was she on X Factor or similar?

A lot of viewers (ie my Mum in her 70s) would not know she was or used to be a singer. My mum also wouldn't know who some of the other panellists were.

I find her irritating to the point I cant watch LW... She was a couple of years above me in school, didn't know her personally but my God it was irritating how the school had a shrine for her in the library like she was some big shot.

Also comes across a bit up herself... She used to shop in a shop I worked in and seemed taken aback when no-one recognized her

Also she recently accused a police officer of verbally racially abusing her which turned out to be false... Didn't check her facts before broadcasting it to the whole nation on LW.. Like the police don't get enough shit as it is.

Because sparkling and WOrra* every single thread in the past quarter that is about a black lady has descended into racial hatred on MN. do a quick check on ones including Beyoncé and Serena Williams etc. Also many other forums for ladies of colour have indicated it happening here on MN. So thank you, but I am fully aware of mentioning her colour, that she and I both share.

Yanbu op, I'm not a Jamelia fan either and I do remember the 'plus size' debacle. I also remember the ridiculous attempt at backpeddling afterwards.

I couldn't care less if she is pink,blue, green or red she is still really irritating and comes across as having a massive chip on her shoulder!
She would be better off continuing the singing tbf.
She was on a survival programme I saw and was just awful on it! Upset every other celeb and made me want to reach through the screen and throttle her, ruined the programme really.

Yeah I'm not keen on her. Don't like her talking / singing voice, although she's had a few good songs. I liked Call Me. And Money was pretty good. Her later stuff isn't as good.

I don't watch LW anyway because I find the format a bit tired and poorly executed but I've never found Jamelia to be interesting to listen to.

I have had a quick google. I was convinced Jamelia was on X Factor/Fame Academy and got voted out in the early rounds but no.
