He never really got a decent chance. He was one of the most successful Chancellors.

The deficit he ran up was much less than George and Dave have run up during times of "austerity".

He was responsible for many of the amazing welfare introductions such as tax credits that have helped loads of families out of poverty.

wimpy that better together speech was the best I ever saw brown make, and so much better than any of the other better together campaigners, he conveyed exactly what i wanted to say if I'd been that eloquent and firmly slammed the idea that a no vote was not patriotic, not Scottish.

Well, for whoever suggested Kinnock, we have his son appearing at every possible occasion and giving us the benefit of his (one year's) experience of politics.

The brain drain in politics is due, I would say, largely to the fact that we know all the background, skeletons in their closets nowadays. And knowing that, they are none of them squeaky clean.

Look at the accusation of past child sex abuse which are being made . These were men held in high regard, giving of their time for their country !
