Just that really.
Where's a good place to live to escape all the Brexit madness?
I prefer Nicola Sturgeon to any of the psychopaths allegedly 'running' the country down here.

I appreciate that this thread was probably started in a lighthearted way but what would you do if you moved to Scotland, the country gained independence but was refused entry to the EU? Would you then move to France/Germany/wherever?

If you didn't consider moving to Scotland pre-referendum then you're just moving for what you can get out of it. I don't think any country needs that sort of person as part of the electorate.

KissMyArse · 02/07/2016 13:47

Shock Bloody hell - it would probably cost you £900,000 a year just to heat and maintain that castle!

Maybe Trump will buy it - I understand he has some business ventures in Scotland at the moment?

Today is Bigoted Wankstain Parade Day aka Orange Order march in Glasgow so certainly not all sunshine and roses up here.............

Why does anyone move anywhere, usually?

KissMyArse · 02/07/2016 15:30

Why does anyone move anywhere, usually?

Because they love that country/part of the country or to be closer to family are fairly common reasons. Having to move because of your current employment is another but that usually isn't a deliberate choice.

I do, however, see your point that nobody is going to move somewhere in order to make their lives worse!

JassyRadlett · 02/07/2016 15:51

Yep. They move for what they can get out of it. Grin

KissMyArse · 02/07/2016 15:57

You're right Jassy I think I'm just a bit grumpy today

Still interested in how things would turn out for Bresettlers if Scotland votes independence and is then vetoed for EU membership. We could have a whole new generation of nomads.

JassyRadlett · 02/07/2016 16:01

It's a weird one, isn't it? I suppose it's the natural effect of people feeling they have had part of their citizenship taken away - they will look at all avenues to get it back if it were important to them.

I'm an immigrant anyway, which makes the whole thing even odder - I was about to get European citizenship (have been eligible for UK citizenship for 5 years but hadn't got around to it) and while I'll still apply it feels like the balance has shifted from opportunity to security.

Mominatrix · 02/07/2016 16:11

tBH- if being a resident of the EU is important, would you not be better off moving to Ireland?

KissMyArse · 02/07/2016 16:45

Mominatrix

You have to qualify on grounds of the relevant Irish heritage/residency to get an Irish passport.

Ah, sorry - I misread your question Mominatrix I thought you were talking about passports/citizenship.
