Yes I have voted, but I am sick and tired of the unrest, I'm aware there has been a lot of discontent for a long time but its now feeling toxic and I want it to be over one way or the other.

Translation?!

DailyMailEthicalFail · 23/06/2016 22:50

I should have said: 'it CAN be fair game'.
As I say, not all Scots are anti English. Not at all.
But the undercurrent that is there became more legitimised by the SNP top brass failing to condemn it.
Much more damage was done by the notion that you 'weren't Scottish enough' if you didn't vote Yes.
Obviously I am not Scottish. 25 years here though.
But if I were Scottish that would have pissed me off mightily and I have plenty Scottish friends who were deeply upset by it.

Sorry, back to Bremain / Brexit.

Why is Farage saying he feels Bremain have 'edged it'.
Does he know something we don't?

sparechange · 23/06/2016 22:52

The latest aggregated data from numerous polling companies shows a clear enough margin.

ThisCakeFilledIsle · 23/06/2016 22:54

The faces of Ian Duncan Smith and Tom Watson on the bbc tell the same story!

shovetheholly · 23/06/2016 22:56

The fact that Farage has virtually conceded may suggest that their private polls show remain even more strongly in the lead than the Yougov poll

WaspsandBeesSting · 23/06/2016 22:57

Come and tell us you're not all minority wrong racist uneducated misunderstood patriots

With comments like that you wonder how the country will move forward.

From this first class honours and Dr from Russell Group Uni

I suggest you take your bigoted views elsewhere. Nastiness of some Remainers certainly shinning brightly now hey.

bacimamma · 23/06/2016 23:00

"Ukip leader Nigel Farage sensationally concedes DEFEAT within seconds of voting closing as final poll gives In camp the edge 52% - 48% in historic EU referendum"
According to DF. Why would he do that?

OrangesandLemonsNow · 23/06/2016 23:02

Why would he do that?

Because it gives him the programme leading headlines and attention Wink

cakeycakeface · 23/06/2016 23:03

Daily That is awful and I totally believe you. Your poor DC.

When I arrived in Scotland back in the mists of time I was oblivious to the English/Scottish tension. My first experience was in hours of arriving, when a total stranger, overhearing me speak, approached me and said something in a very threatening intimidating tone. I didn't understand his accent so very nervously asked him to repeat it. He paused - hearing my accent again - and said, "You're not posh English...?". I said No. He said, "OK, that's alright then". All smiles suddenly.

Scottish friends quickly filled me in on what had happened. I still don't know what it was he initially aggressively said to me.

To be fair though, that was my only experience, until Indy-ref, when I got the distinct vibe from a couple of Yes supporting people, who I thought were my friends, that I had fewer rights to belong here and comment on the future than they did.

bacimamma · 23/06/2016 23:08

If the polls are 52% - 48 it really could go both ways.

Capricorn76 · 23/06/2016 23:20

Thanks Squoosh. No worries everyone else.

sparechange · 23/06/2016 23:41

Farage live on the BBC saying he thinks Remain have got it

sparechange · 23/06/2016 23:42

A PhD and don't know what bigoted means..?

sparechange · 23/06/2016 23:43

Haha, the bellend is now blaming the voter registration system.
Pathetic

LittleLionMansMummy · 23/06/2016 23:44

The excuses have already started. If Leave lose it's apparently due to the extension of the vote registration deadline.

LittleLionMansMummy · 23/06/2016 23:45

No doubt pencil crosses rubbed out too.

DailyMailEthicalFail · 23/06/2016 23:48

Ah, I see Farage has 'un-conceded'.
Confused

squoosh · 23/06/2016 23:50

Ugh Farage.

I resign

Wait, I've changed my mind

I concede defeat

Wait, I've changed my mind

sparechange · 23/06/2016 23:56

Unofficial result from my area seems to be over 70% remain
Laura Kuemssberg in agreement with it

GhostofFrankGrimes · 24/06/2016 00:00

Newcastle Remain!

sparechange · 24/06/2016 00:01

Newcastle votes remain
Wasn't that supposed to be a Leave stronghold..?

GhostofFrankGrimes · 24/06/2016 00:02

no - BBC saying remain expected to do better in Newcastle.

ThisCakeFilledIsle · 24/06/2016 00:02

This is why he's ended up a one man band.

OrangesandLemonsNow · 24/06/2016 00:03

No it is a remain stronghold.

Result better for leave than expected

beetroot2 · 24/06/2016 00:04

I voted out but have an awful feeling it's going to be in Sad
